my doc said you need to use general because where they place the lap band is so close to the heart and do to the fact they fill your stomach up with gas and this is very uncomfortable they dont want to take a chance on you moving at all durning the surgery -
im feeling pretty good now no problems unless i sneeze

lundy not sure where you had your surgery but your diet and foods listed are the same as my list from my docs in maryland -

i had my surgey on 6/12 the list my doctor gave allows me to have tomato soup on it. no cheese, but i take chicken noodle soup and blend it it a blender and thats ok , yogart, strained cream soups, so you are probally ok with the soup. not sure about the cheese. good luck -

i have been living on protien shakes (3 to 4 aday), sugar free jello & puding, broth, egg drop soup, diet green tea, and lots of water.

i get my band on the 12th also and ive been on the liquid diet for the last week not to bad now the first 2 days were tough. good luck. im getting nervous now a little but still looking forward to it

hey Rick it's so hard to find post on this site buy guy's i was wondering if only woman got lap bands at first glance. i get my band on 6/12 just wonder how you did with the surgery and how your doing now. im getting a little nervous now more so of getting put to slp for the operation let me know your take if you get a chance tx joe

i have lost about 12lbs so far but i have only been really dieting the last 3 weeks. my docs office did not want me to loose to much b4 i got my approval from my insurance. he said they could revoke my approval. but i will be on liquids starting next week doc said i will loose some more weight durning the next 2 weeks on liquids

hi kim, i get my lap band 6/12 at st agnes with Dr. Averbach, how was your experience with his office and him. i am getting more nervous everyday. i live in the arbutus area.
