    1 week post op

My big incision continued to bother me for the first few weeks. About week three I would have an occasional strange sensation that felt like something tearing under the incision and after than happened a few times the pain went away completely.
  2. For my pre-op diet I was supposed to do five shakes a day using Bariatric Advantage meal replacement powder mix. They were so bad, just the smell of the powder would make me nauseous. I don't think there was a day I was able to get all five in.
  3. Congrats!!! For the pre-op diet don't forget sugar free Jello and ice pops. Some surgeons will also let you have chicken broth. I've been buying all my Vitamins and Protein through amazon. For protein I like Premier Protein, it's 30g of protein in an 11oz shake, it's really easy to get down right after surgery and it only takes two shakes to hit your daily protein goal.
  4. I went in for my first physical in something like 15 years. Being 32, weighing about 410-420 and having been overweight since grade school I was fully expecting some combination of high blood pressure/diabetes/heart issues. But nope, nothing, perfectly healthy aside from my weight. Opened my eyes to how lucky I was and I couldn't really not do anything about my weight anymore. I had tried dieting, lost about 40lbs but gained it all back and then some within a year. All the info on the surgery I could find made it clear it was the best option.

    Post op misery

I spent two nights in the hospital, discharged afternoon of my third day. The gas pain was there first two days. My biggest source of pain was my big incision, that stayed around for a few weeks.

    March 30 Sleevers?

Had my surgery on 3/28 so official one month as of today. I'm down about 20lbs from the day of surgery and 40lbs from the start of my two week pre-op liquids diet. On soft foods now, able to tolerate everything I've tried so far. Hitting my Water and Protein goals for the most part, have trouble remembering to drink throughout the day some times. Able to get three 1/2 cup meals in right now so hitting about half my protein from food and the other half from a protein shake. Walking about two miles a day five days a week. Had some problems with constipation the second week but no other issues so far. Feeling better physically than I have in a long time, lots of little aches in my legs are already starting to go away. Clothes are already too big.
