    Anyone from California

I am a month out. My stem grandmother lives in Modesto. Spend most holidays there. She lives off McHenery/Sherwood Forest. Hope you get approved soon. Stay focused losing weight it all counts! Sent from my LGLS990 using the BariatricPal App

    BM TMI

Are you lactose intolerant? Our case manager says that happens post op even if you were not before for some. It happened to me after adding Miralax and Benefiber. I am just a month and week out from sleeve. Talk to your surgeon's office. We are discouraged from Protein Shakes but that is just Kaiser. So far my only big screw up was trying to eat some ice cream. BAD made me sick. Anyway hang in there. Stay hydrated! Sent from my LGLS990 using the BariatricPal App
  3. No, no one offended me. I thought I offended you. When I reread my post I see how it reads as judgemental. Yes we are all in this battle together. Enough haters out there. We should always support one another. Sent from my LGLS990 using the BariatricPal App
  4. Thank you for your response. It helps us new sleevers to understand better. Being a month out I want to believe that this will work long term. Happy for your success and that you care enough to keep trying. Still recovering and a bit emotional still myself. Not meaning to sound rude to anyone so I apologize. Still learning and you know how hard core it is to get to surgery and post op. So really wound up lol. Again, wishing you nothing but success and happiness on your journey. Thanks for your honesty. 5. Hi! 1 month post op have lost 15lbs since. Honestly thought it would be more. Eating 1/4 to 1/2 cup Protein 3 x's no snacking and getting 64oz fluids. Walking most days. Sometimes I think that I am not eating enough? Then too much. Still adjusting suppose. Need to be checking in here again stay with like minded people. Felt stuck in the mud these past 2 weeks. So happy I am on this journey! HW 280, SD 241 current 226. Cannot wait to say goodbye to the 200's! Thanks everybody and all the best to each of you on your journeys! Please take care of yourself. Love to hear from you! Take care in these crazy times we are living in. Peace! Sent from my LGLS990 using the BariatricPal App

    Hunger post Op

Was feeling the same way toasting a bagel with CC this a.m. for my daughter lol. Like come on you are 15 you can do this yourself. But she is a teen and my only one. So meal prep goes on. I was taking an antidepressant prior to being sleeved 6/8 and do believe it has helped. As so many of us we coped by using food. At 4th of July I wanted to slap the next person who crunched down on a tortilla chip. Have they always been this loud? Or am I being taunted? Ahhh so yeah we just have to keep our eyes on the prize our goal weight. Good luck do not be afraid to speak to your doctor about depression. Walking briskly helps, staying connected to other sleevers, support groups. And medication if needed. If you are a person of faith that can be of help. Okay then, take care and good luck Michele Sent from my LGLS990 using the BariatricPal App
  7. Hey congratulations! Thank you for talking about stall. Sleeved, 6/8 was HW 281, 241 SD and only down to 226. I walk not as much as you but I am getting there. At 3 miles 4 sometimes. I eat 1/4 cup protein a meal. No snacking and keeping it low card. Our surgeon at Kaiser here in Bay Area CA. They do not want us doing Protein shakes. Getting all my water only Vitamin that has caused issue is Iron. It loves to revisit in the middle of night ew! Tastes like a mouth of copper pennies. 4th of July got cute had 2 bites of Ben & Jerry's and let me tell you. The worst feeling guess that was a preview of dumping syndrome. Glad you are doing so good. Hear you about having it when you were younger. I am 49 but suppose we were not ready for all it takes to be successful at this. It is mental much more than physical. Most people are cool. Have an over weight aunt that has tried to sabotage probably without knowing but you do not send a pic of cake knowing I am still recovering. People do not think sometimes. Oh well. Thanks for the share going to kick up the steps you just encouraged me. So happy for you! I live in Napa Valley get to walk in the vineyards! Sent from my LGLS990 using the BariatricPal App
  8. First off never heard of this procedure. Second if you gained weight on the sleeve was is it due to not following the program? What do you think would change having a new surgery? So I am a month post op sleeve. Down 55 lbs including pre op weight loss. Must say thought the weigh would be flying off fast. 15lbs this past month. Guess that is not so bad. Anyway I am militant following directions for most part. Have a bit of caffeine and accidently drank from a straw a few times. Drink Water, eat 1/4 cup Protein meals 3 xs a day and walk. Just asking because really what do I know? Do you feel like your pouch is stretched? Can you eat a lot again? Sorry for questioning you really curious. Thanks for sharing. Oh you went the day before me. Doing pretty good. Cheated for first time had some ice cream and trust me I have been hard core all the way through. Dumb idea sick as a dog. Via the bottom end of business. Walking 3-4 miles a day. Feeling good. Weight is coming off 2 lbs a week. How about you? Are you feeling strong? Hope all is well. Hi, Napa Valley here. Sleeved June 8th. Wish weight loss was happening faster. So far no complications. Have to catch myself no drinking while eating. Doing it though. This is first holiday post op. Take care! Sent from my LGLS990 using the BariatricPal App
  12. Totally feel you. My friends are going out to lunch Sunday and they all looked at me. And I said no, no go ahead just not time for me yet. Even though I know I could sit there and watch them why do that to myself at 2 weeks out. Do not let the hot dog win!!! I actually ate an entire pudding cup sugar-free of course and felt guilty like I ate a burger. Lol. Let's stay strong together!
  13. Wow, my daughter had a friend sleepover. Cannot believe I made it through preparing homemade carmel apple waffles with homemade chicken nuggets. Ugh. Do not want to lose my cooking skills. Plus my kid needs to eat. Typing this out to stay strong knowing life goes on. Really excited to reach next goals to solidify my choice to be sleeved. Sent from my LGLS990 using the BariatricPal App
  14. Totally get it. Same here, have a wide repertoire for cooking. Plus living in the Napa Valley everything is about eating and drinking. Really did not realize how much I was consuming while preparing meals. It is like one of my senses is now missing while cooking. Glad you shared this topic. Suppose once I get to goal it will be a new acquired skill. All the facets of life that are changing. Exciting times. Take care Sent from my LGLS990 using the BariatricPal App
  15. Yeah actually having issues with food smells. Apart of changing our lifestyle had to realize how much tasting while cooking I was doing. Packing on the calories. My stepmom came to stay after surgery she cooked for herself and opened a bottle of wine. Thought I was going to die from the smell of wine in her glass. Kind of like after a hangover when you smell alcohol. Anyway life goes on. See surgeon tomorrow should be on soft foods. Hope you are well. Sent from my LGLS990 using the BariatricPal App
  16. Okay, why did I think hunger pains would be taken away with old stomach lol. I am 2nd week of modified liquid diet very little to no Protein until next week. I broke down and ate a lite cheese stick could not take it anymore. This is my first solid food. Anyway waiting to see how my pouch reacts. Staying hydrated really thought that would be harder. Think I am going to add Protein powder to modified liquids just so I can stick to the 1/4 cup meal size. Yes, I was ready for the lifestyle change but our surgeon does not promote us drinking Protein shakes. As we all know without protein nothing really sticks. See him on the 21st suppose to be advanced to soft food stage. 13lbs down since 6/8 all together 50lbs! Happy weekend! Sent from my LGLS990 using the BariatricPal App

I am sad today. Disappointing realization.

Hi, Last week one of the pre-op doctors and I almost came to blows. First off I have an IUD and am 49 do not have a partner. But I had not taken a pregnancy test. We went back and forth and he said "do you want your date canceled"? So I went ahead and took the test. The next day I was sleeved, 6/8. They will find any little things including weight gain to make sure you are ready. So just hang in there and brace yourself for these things. And do not be like me and wait to kick caffeine. Going through recovery and having the headache from hell was not fun. So you will be able to breath and sleep better going forward after the having the study. Just do what they say and keep on track. I am so hungry right now it is crazy. Go ahead and eat something you really, really like not overboard and not same week of surgeryand follow it up with walking to burn the calories. If you gain even an ounce though they will stop you. Just be smart about it. Funny my daughter is 15 her name is also Mia, that was my screen name for along time MamaMia. Wishing you all the best, be strong! Walk, walk, walk! My start weight was 280.1 currently at 235 post-op. Still getting rid of the surgical gas that stays in your body. It is no joke it hurt my shoulders and neck but went away in a couple days. If you have any questions feel free to reach out. Good luck! Michele
  18. Will my surgery be canceled? Under goal weight however. My doc took me off pain relievers my back was killing me BAD. My other choice was Advil and that is a real no! Sent from my LGLS990 using the BariatricPal App
  19. Thank you for checking they found a hernia and repaired it. Then as I came out of surgery I vomited. Blood pressure was real high. Next day was stable walking, sipping using bathroom. Home and sore getting the surgical gas out. Last day of liquid diet. Now just carrying for new pouch. Sent from my LGLS990 using the BariatricPal App
  20. Recovering well. Just sore and so is my neck for some crazy reason. Overall not as bad off as I thought. So happy it is done. Sent from my LGLS990 using the BariatricPal App

    I'm freeking out

Being sleeved June 8th totally nervous. Bitten my nails to numbs, catch myself shaking my foot, cannot concentrate at work very well. Hard time sitting still. Because I have a teenage daughter and I am a single mom had to make a Will that really brought it home. Oh well we will be okay right!? They do thousands of these around the country. Trying to stay in the moment thinking these are the last pre-op days, we will have new lives pretty soon. Good luck! Stay in touch.
  25. Sleeve date 6/8 and I have been 95% faithful to pre-op diet losing 35lbs. Tonight had some refried Beans, rice and carn itas no tortillas. And the beans were so salty that it was not that enjoyable. So I get it fantasying all these foods that I think I want. Who the heck eats or wants cotton candy at 49? Yep that is a crave I will have to let slide lol. Guys its just not worth it. As I lay here bloated from sodium now. Ewwww Sent from my LGLS990 using the BariatricPal App
