What was your first week post op like?
rebecca wills replied to lynnedilligaf's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
One week out I felt up to going shopping, and went to the beach with my kids. I kept plenty of liquids with me. And made sure to have Protein shakes portable. The drain came out the day of discharge. 3rd day! Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App -
Creamy Tomato Soup from Panera
rebecca wills replied to iamjohnbamber's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Progresso has a wonderful tomato basil soup that once you purée and add milk and Protein it is yummy. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App -
My nut explained soft food as anything that is easily mushed with a fork. Raw salmon can be spread, and tuna too. It is on my list for purée also early. They explained that every surgeon has different instructions. So follow your own plan given to you after leaving your follow up visits. I live down at the NJ shore, in a fishing town. Fresh seafood always available. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

Frank's has a wing sauce that is low in carbs. If you are sticking to low carb and healthy fats your good. Grill the chicken wings with a rub, and dip once done in the sauce, then back to the grill! Vinegar will tenderize it and flavor it. Dip into low cal dressing! These treats help us keep on plan. If it's a social time, once in a while. I've mixed blue cheese into avocado and added a little salt and it was great! Tasty bites is all we have now! Make them count to curb fatty high cal cravings! Can drink easily since day 1 - anyone the same, did restriction kick in?
rebecca wills replied to roguegambit's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Restriction was felt most once I started adding in dense purée. Mashed potato, flaked fish, chicken. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

Quest bar, I'm rounding into week 5 and have no problems so far with foods. I see my docs Today. Just curious if I could nibble on it since I'm going to a convention this weekend and it's easier to pack a bar in my purse. So any thoughts? My shake I can get in the morning. And we do break for lunch so I can get a planned meal in then. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

3 days out of surgery
rebecca wills replied to Eustacia Vye's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Do you have any local Chinese take outs? You might enjoy there wonton soup broth without wonton. Or make your own broth. It's super easy, butcher beef bones in pot with Water to cover, whole onion, 2 stalks celery, 2 carrots and cover and cook on simmer 2 hours and season with salt and you'll have to strain out the liquid. But you can do it with chicken too. Fresh taste best! You won't gag I promise, and it will help you heal. Bone broth is so good for you! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
