After soft foods... what to eat?
rebecca wills replied to triplethreat's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A

I hate shopping...wait, what?
rebecca wills replied to cindyw41's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
FYI: 5 years ago I lost 65 lbs and did it drastically in 3.5 months without surgery. I went through an emotional roller coaster ride. #1 I didn't recognize my self in the reflection. I found myself crying in the dressing room because of the fact I was so disconnected from that person. #2. Before surgery I gained it ail back and some due to thyroid disease called Graves brought on by diet and genes. Had thyroid removed. Not able to get the weight off on my own. #3. Surgery now and am down enough to go shopping and fit into cute clothes. Except now I am able to come to terms with this immediate issue. Because now I realized since the things that matter to me. Asking myself this question: " Do I like how I look, and am I proud of what My image in the mirror says about me?" Only you can answer that! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

CATO store, I just Love it! Women's clothes at affordable prices. One side is Women's 1x and up, other side is XL and down. Modest yet style! Co-ordinated together outfits on display so you can mix and match. I go there and always fall in Love with something. I'm not plugging the store for any other reason than the fact it works for all sizes. And I feel excited when I leave. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

Nausea attacks when I sleep
rebecca wills replied to LA_lady's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thyroid Storm can act like that. So anyone on thyroid meds have to be mindful that their body is changing quickly and adjustments need to be made to medication or they might be taking too much. As a result you could throw yourself into a storm. Please keep that in mind. Your going from hypo-to-hyper! If you take thyroid meds make sure you tell the ER. Late June Sleeve Buddies?
rebecca wills replied to Maggie143's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thought I hit a stall but it only lasted 4 days. I have noticed I can eat more now. So swelling has gone down. My goal from here is 60lbs. I've lost 25lbs since pre-surgical diet til now. At this point I'm feeling pretty confident that I can deal with the small plate at every dinner meal, and I'm never going to be a big Breakfast eater. Just not my thing. So shake in the morning suits me. Love my chocolate mixed with PB2. It's so good. And the Oykos Triple 3 Greek yogurt is the best and high in Protein and taste great. The only thing I struggle with is taking Vitamins. It's hard to get them down. Yucky Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
24 lbs down, I'm eating soft foods starting this weekend. I've felt restriction as soon as I started eating flaked fish. My sleeve holds onto dense Protein. I made an omelet with 1 egg, smoked salmon. I could eat half of it. But I can eat yogurt 1/2 cup like a boss. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

800 calories ? IS IT ENOUGH?
rebecca wills replied to Womanvsmirror's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Your body is always changing. The one thing I've learned in the past 5 years is to trust myself. You and only you are in control of what happens in your body. You proved you Love yourself by taking control of your health. Positive vibes reap positive results. Get out the tape measure, and start keeping records. Journal not only physical aspects of your progress but your thoughts, and emotions as well as spiritual thoughts. Those things impact our well being. We are always evolving. The caloric intake isn't important yet, the focus is on the Protein and Water intake, Vitamins and minerals. That is because your healing. The nut I had told me to not concern myself on caloric intake. Since we don't hold much in our sleeve. Protein counts first, supports muscle and keeps us from breaking down muscle. I mentioned 5 years for a reason. At some point I will put my story on my journey. Short story is I had my thyroid removed 3 years ago. I'm a work in progress. But at 54 years old I have learned to Love myself. Be happy and best wishes! Your doing great!!!! Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App -

5 days post op and can't stop looking at pics of food
rebecca wills replied to Wendydarling19's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm not having any problems with food. I went thru stage 1 enjoying the liquids. Then when purée came it was tasty. I've been able to keep things interesting and adapt my meals to the families. I'm moving on to soft foods and I have enjoyed fish dishes in lemon and white wine broth. Rather than thinking what we can't have Just keep things simple and master the new tummy and savor your new victory. I love cooking and it is what got me to where I am. So now I am thinking of putting a sign over my Kitchen that say's "Tasty Bites" and create just that! One tasty bite at a time. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

rebecca wills replied to ejdunkin's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I know how frustrated you are. It is all about thinking positive. I focused on the small changes. They get bigger as time passes. In one weeks time I was not huffing over a hill I had to walk from my car to the beach. Every Tuesday I meet my kids at. I took my shakes and Water. And saw inside 3 weeks my energy grow. That was my victory, then saw the scale say 20 lbs down. Now I'm all in! Stay on this site and use the feed back to keep you going! We are here for you!!!!! Extreme Fatigue
rebecca wills replied to cuddletime's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A

I have some questions
rebecca wills replied to Crystal clear's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If you are drinking more than 64 oz of liquid, one of those 12 oz must be electrolytes. Water depletes you of essential minerals, and dehydration is very easy if it's warm outside. The type of water we drink is important as well. Ionized water, and purified water depletes us of minerals. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App -
