Artificial sugar vs real sugar
Bruce Peter replied to changes1's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
NFN, but I have little to no regard for what the FDA says is "safe". Nor do I subscribe to the NCI or their findings as gospel. Both the FDA and the NCI are loaded with politically persuasive connections. Politicians, as we know are owned by corporations. Now with that said, I believe that all things natural are better for you then their synthetic substitutes. That goes for GMO's, pesticides, herbicides, margarine and sweeteners. I won't go near them -

February sleevers
Bruce Peter replied to Kiwwi1991's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sleeved 2/25. So far I feel pretty good. I'm pretty much off pain meds and getting out a bit. Today, I have been fighting diareha, presumably because I have been taking a stool softener since day 1. I'm tired, and I haven't been tracking my Water intake. Today, I switched from Clear Liquids to broth and shakes. I had three so far (7;00pm) and I'll have one more. I was also able to get about a cup of strained chicken Soup down. From what I am reading, I'd say I'm doing very well. I hope everyone is well Cheers -
Still insulin dependent?!
Bruce Peter replied to mama0297's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Had my surgery 2/25. So far my readings have all been below 150 and dropping. I read 133 today, so I took a half dose. I think it takes a few weeks for your body to adjust. Hang in there -
Artificial sugar vs real sugar
Bruce Peter replied to changes1's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have no opinion on Taurus lades unscientific studies except to say that they are not scientific. That said, if anyone thinks things like margarine substitute, one molecule away from plastic or artificial sweeteners are better for you than butter or sugar, you're sadly mistaken. Studies have shown what Taurus lady has stated. I avoid them like the plague. -
I was successfully sleeved Wednesday! Surgery went well, no complications, but I'm in a fair amount of pain. No worries though, a TBSP of pain meds and I'm all good again. They sent me home the next day, and I'm sipping Water. I think I have gas pain, which I have heard about in these forums. Anyway, I'm looking forward to a lifetime of looking and felling better. At 59, I didn't want to enter the golden years with weight complications

Artificial sugar vs real sugar
Bruce Peter replied to changes1's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've been saying this since the 80's.Artiical anything is not good for you. Artificial sweeteners have been proven to cause cancer in lab rats. I'm eating sugar free pops for now, because that's what my post op instructions say, but once I'm back on real food, I will throw them out -

Hi everyone, My surgery date is Tuesday, 2/25. I am on day 5 of the pre-op liquid diet and the constant hunger is terrible. I'm eating a lot of soup/broth, several shakes a day and of course Water. Will this hunger continue post op? If so how long? Thanks in advance

From what other sleevers have stated I was under the impression that you can eat most of what you want, but because of the restriction much less of it. Is this all wrong?
