Tried some meatloaf tonight. It didn't go so well
Bruce Peter replied to Bruce Peter's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes, I have had no issues with ground turkey, pork or chicken. Or anything else I have eaten for that matter. This was a first. Lesson learned. Next time I'll make it with some pork mixed in. One serving however contains 41g of protien! -
awesome. I'm just two weeks out and down from a 40 to a loose 38, tight 36

What to scramble eggs in?
Bruce Peter replied to sarahbeth3569's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
A tsp of butter won't hurt anyone. Don't deprive yourself too much or you'll end up craving foods you can't have, which can lead to binge eating -

Drinking Fluids with Full Liquid
Bruce Peter replied to sarahbeth3569's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
With liquids I don't think it matters much. Lord knows I had to wash out the nasty taste of the protein shakes with some water. Once you start on real food you shouldn't drink afterwards for an hour. -
8 days post-op - pureed foods
Bruce Peter replied to DisforDavid's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I started adding soft foods on day 10. Yogurt, cottage cheese first, then wet scrambled eggs. I had no issues with any of them. Just eat them slow. -
mine are also chewable. I have been taking them since day one

One week post op and then I stall
Bruce Peter replied to kester2002's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
same date, and 11 days later I actually gained 1 lb. I'm sure it's normal. I'm going to increase my calorie intake and start exercising this week. I'm sure that will trigger more loss -
I need to vent...4 weeks out and very stalled
Bruce Peter replied to LisaLou30's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I agree... I was working out at this point and increasing my calories a bit did help. For sure Seems contrary, but it does work. The body slows down due to the lower caloric intake. You have to spark it by increasing them. -

Increase your food and exercise daily. The weight loss will resume -
drinking plenty of Water, probably 60 oz. Just a hungry day, I guess. Up until today I have been on pure liquids. Perhaps it is head hunger Thanks everyone

Soft Foods Help

stick with protein for now, and chew the heck out of it. I think bananas are too heavy. try cottage cheese, greek yogurt, soft veggies, etc -
Only losing 1lbs a day
Bruce Peter replied to nikki1980's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm almost mirroring your results. pre-op diet weight 2/16 251, now, i'm 230. Very pleased -
I was successfully sleeved Wednesday, 2/25! Surgery went well, no complications, but I'm in a fair amount of pain. No worries though, a TBSP of pain meds and I'm all good again. They sent me home the next day, and I'm sipping Water. I think I have gas pain, which I have heard about in these forums. Anyway, I'm looking forward to a lifetime of looking and felling better. At 59, I didn't want to enter the golden years with weight complications

Only losing 1lbs a day
Bruce Peter replied to nikki1980's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
9 days post op and I've averaged about 1 lb/day. That seems to be the norm until the introduction of soft foods. -
I'm allowed decaf after one week

Is this head hunger or actual hunger?
Bruce Peter replied to kndoster's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was sleeved 2/25 and have been feeling the same way. Like has been said, broth, water, pops and jello seem to help. I'm getting tired of the shakes. My nut says two weeks liquid, so I'm sticking to that. When I started my pre-op diet I was 251. Today I weighed 232. It is getting better as the hunger is not overwhelming as it was earlier on -
