Thanks! It is 78 in my house right now and I'm in long pants and under a big fluffy blanket. Lol- I didn't think Iron would hit only 5 days after surgery Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

So I had RNY on Tuesday and while I'm almost 25lbs down since 9/6 I noticed a new weird symptom- I'm constantly freezing!!! I used to always be the one who would say it's hot and crank fans and AC but just now I had to walk out of church and go sit in the hot car to warm up. My hands and feet were turning pale and blue just from sitting in sacrament meeting. Is this normal? I didn't think it would happen so fast! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I still have steri strips on thank goodness but the gauze is gone. My staples were removed Wednesday when I was discharged. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

So I had RNY on Tuesday and I have to say I feel way better than I thought I would with the exception of my one bigger incision that my surgeon said was where the stapler went in. It's painful when I move too quickly and it's still leaking a little bit of blood every now and then. I've been trying to sleep on my back to avoid aggravating it but I always end up on my side so I'm probably not helping it. I know I'm not supposed to put neosporin or anything like that on it but any ideas to help it heal a little faster? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

We start August 22. My 3 month window for visits ends on the 16th of August. Maybe if I do mid September then I would have at least a month with them under my belt Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
Looking for any teachers who had bypass. It's looking like my surgery will be around September 1 and I'm just curious how long you had to take off to recover. I'm a kinder teacher trying to see if I can get away with only a week off. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Prothrombin Gene Mutation/ Blood Clots
Maloneymommy replied to charley27's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have factor 2- I've never personally had a clot but my dad has had 5 and both my grandparents passed away due to strokes likely caused by clots. I've known since I was 10 so I've always been careful. Aspirin every day while I was pregnant, lovenox 6 weeks after, dr said this time around he will put me on thinners before and after. Not quite sure how I feel about thinners before. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

Yep- the driving everywhere in Texas thing is so true. Maybe once I am down to a happy weight I will also start walking to/from work every day. I live less than a mile from the school I teach at and my son is there too in pre-k so maybe I'll load him up in the jogging stroller and walk to work a few days a week. This past weekend we went camping with some friends and we were on the lake with kayaks and paddle boards. I am looking forward to the moment post surgery when I don't wonder- what is the weight limit on this thing? I hope I don't look like an idiot. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
Does anyone have experience with the True Results clinics? Do they have the staff in house for nutritionist, etc? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Talk to me about your experiences with getting approved with Blue Cross Federal. Would you consider them super picky or more relaxed? I'm specifically curious about the supervised weight loss period as well as proving previous attempts were unsuccessful. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
