    The great straw debate!

I use a straw everyday. My Surgeon and nut told us that straws can cause excess air in your pouch which can make things uncomfortable. They said gum, early on, can get stuck. Never anything about "stretching." Sent from my SM-N920V using the BariatricPal App
  3. I was stuck for 3 weeks. Finally these past few days, I've been back to losing. Sent from my SM-N920V using the BariatricPal App

    Depressed

Hope you get feeling better. I know I didn't believe a single person who kept telling me that it would pass and it gets better. I seriously kept thinking wtf did I do to myself? But seriously, it does get better. Around 2 weeks I felt pretty decent. Sent from my SM-N920V using the BariatricPal App

    Depressed

Btw... get some Greek yogurt. I watered mine down with almond milk. Not to liquid form, just thinner. It was a HUUUGE mental boost. I did that around day 5 or 6. Sent from my SM-N920V using the BariatricPal App

I didn't speak to anyone more than a few words at a time for nearly a week after surgery! Sent from my SM-N920V using the BariatricPal App
  7. Wow. What a difference Sent from my SM-G900V using the BariatricPal App Holy ****. Amazing. Any loose skin issues? Sent from my SM-G900V using the BariatricPal App Not too much yet. I can see it coming though. Ugh. I know my thighs, arms, and stomach will have skin issues. I eat pretty much whatever I want honestly. I was put in soft foods on may 6th. I've tried multiple things though . Today I had food stuck severely. Finally had to throw it up. First time I've vomited in like 3 years. Lost 38 pounds 40 days now. My jeans fit differently, that's the main noticeable difference. Sent from my SM-N920V using the BariatricPal App
  8. It's an interesting thought. I wonder why it would work. Sent from my SM-N920V using the BariatricPal App

  11. I had my RNY on 4/20/16. Until the past 5 days or so I haven't been excessively active. The weight loss slowed way down so I decided it was time to get off my rump, even if that meant I wasn't giving my husband my undecided attention as soon as I got off from work, like he expects. So, tonight I walked about a mile and a half and ran (if that's what one should want to call that) for about 100 yards. I think I may have seen the pearly gates, bright lights, and my calling in my near future as I though I was going to die! I may or may not have felt like a beached whale with no blow hole when I got back to my house. Uuuugh! Why on earth would anyone one ever let themselves get like this!? 12. Me and yoga... I've never tried. Mostly because this fat girl can't touch the ground lol. Sent from my SM-N920V using the BariatricPal App
  13. He just wants me right there beside him while he does it! That's my problem. If I'm not right there...he isn't happy. Which leaves little time for me to do what I need to do. Sent from my SM-N920V using the BariatricPal App
  14. I wished I had more time to be like that. Sent from my SM-N920V using the BariatricPal App

  17. My nut said that fresh fruit is perfectly fine. They say that skins on the fruits like apples and plums are the issue. They are tough and they don't want them getting stuck on us. However, when asked, watermelon and cantaloupe were perfectly fine for Snacks they told us. Not as a meal because they have no Protein or Calcium values that really aid us. I will say this though... fresh watermelon has quickly become my new best friend. It's delicious to me. Not to me tonight the Water content is helping me get fluids in. 18. Not to mention you've been inflated with gas for them to operate. Even after that goes away you still swallow air. This hasn't completely went away for me yet. I'm a month and 4 days postop. Sent from my SM-N920V using the BariatricPal App

    Liquid Diet!

I was told 2 weeks of liquid diet. About day 6, I had Greek yogurt watered down with almond milk (unsweetened). I followed that with shaved turkey and very thinly sliced deli ham. Those two things saved me mentally. I was becoming very depressed and mentally having a hard time. Once I put those two things in my face, that ended and I started to regain some energy. 21. Man, wished it was that easy! It is very unpredictable...that's strange! Mine always hurts basically right between my boobs and down just a couple inches. Then it hurts all the way though to my shoulder blades. Sent from my SM-N920V using the BariatricPal App
  22. I've wished a few times I could just throw up. I haven't (knock on wood) been sick from anything yet, but I've v found myself wishful that I could just do it and get it over with. I've NEVER been able to make myself do it though. No finger in the throat, nothing. Sent from my SM-N920V using the BariatricPal App
  23. They may not I really don't know. I've only had it done for a month. Sent from my SM-N920V using the BariatricPal App
