beggingtobehealthy replied to coler's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm two weeks out today and feel INCREDIBLE. My incisions are super annoying due to an allergic reaction to the glue but that's it. I would talk to your surgeon asap Sent from my XT1585 using the BariatricPal App -

Will a Week Off be Enough for a HR desk Job
beggingtobehealthy replied to Lindsey Skinner Abbott's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Should add in I am two weeks post op today. I am able to walk a couple miles a day, was even able to do lawn work. The more you get up and move around the less pain you will have and I noticed the days I don't get up and move I don't loose. So that's huge motivation to get moving Sent from my XT1585 using the BariatricPal App -

Scared of Pre-op diet
beggingtobehealthy replied to 4u2nvyme's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It depends on the dr. Mine required one week pre op with liquids and one meal a day with a lean Protein and veggie. I shed ten pounds in one week. My liver was so small and everything was so on point it only took an hour for the surgery Sent from my XT1585 using the BariatricPal App -
Shocking news: I'm "pre-certified" but not "approved" for insurance
beggingtobehealthy replied to Maggie Journey's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I work for a doctor. You have to call with the exact CPT codes that will be used. Tell the insurance people what codes will be used. They will tell you if you have benefits available. Then ask them if there is medical necessity is it covered? If they say yes, you need to ask for their name and a reference number. I was told I did not have benefits but the surgery would be covered due to medical necessity then when I called again they went back on everything but I had a reference number so I was able to work something out Sent from my XT1585 using the BariatricPal App -
Sleeved April 27. Just wondering if it is normal to feel this depressed. Lost 20 pounds since start of preop diet but feeling super depressed. Like I resent having to cook for my family and I'm just angry because while my clothes are getting big (just had to donate my first load) I don't see the change in myself. I'm so miserable and have so many emotions and I don't understand why. I can tell people are feeling uncomfortable around me and I want to be happy but just am not there Sent from my XT1585 using the BariatricPal App

I just spoke to my surgeon about this. I hadn't gone in 12 days. He said to take miralax. They said since I am putting way less in my body there isn't much to be released and not to worry if you go days without going Sent from my XT1585 using the BariatricPal App -
Dealing with toddler post opp
beggingtobehealthy replied to Brenda Sherwood's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Getting an extended stay at the hospital is hard. Just because insurance doesn't want to fork out the money. Although I told them I was having severe nausea and bought myself an additional night. I was pissed at the moment but it paid off in the long run. I was released two days post op. I keep up on my meds and STAY ACTIVE. walking around the house, throwing in a load of laundry, doing the dishes. All light weight stuff but it has paid off and made the pain WAYYYY less. Seriously I'm at like a 2/10 on the pain scale right now and I just sat down for the day. I have a very active just turned 2 yr old and five yr old. To keep them away from my tummy, I make them help with chores. My daughter gets a kick out of wiping things down. If I keep her engaged, she stays away from my belly. If she needs snuggles, I put a pillow in-between my belly and her. It can be done! My husband while totally supportive doesn't understand post operative needs. He even thought I should be able to eat IMMEDIATELY lol Sent from my XT1585 using the BariatricPal App -

I just wanted to say thank you to everyone. I might not post often but I read everyone's posts non stop. I was sleeved on 4/27 Truth be told I am still scared that this won't work. That I will be the one freak of nature that doesn't lose weight and get healthy again. I keep thinking what I am feeling post op could not be normal. But seeing everyone's posts helps me realize we are all different but all still so the same and every day is a new chapter in this journey. It took TEN MONTHS for me to get through my bariatric process. Ten months of feeling defeated and like this was never going to happen. And then it finally did. What an emotional roller coaster. I am so glad to have found this app. Even if it was just a few days before surgery. All my questions that I forget to ask my surgeon are answered in some form here. When I have anxiety with thoughts racing through my head, I just pop on here and then I look at the clock and realize I have been reading about people's journeys for hours. I find myself hopeful and positive once again. I return to work tomorrow 5 days post op. I know i can handle this now. And if ever I feel like I can't, it's nice having somewhere to turn to. Thank you everyone
beggingtobehealthy replied to beggingtobehealthy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks I appreciate it! It's a beautiful but scary journey! Super happy to return to work! My theory is I spend more time with my co-workers than I do my own family so they are my fam too and sometimes my biggest form of support. Can't wait to see them all Sent from my XT1585 using the BariatricPal App
