Terrible start of my day..
Froggi replied to kyrstenmarie's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Aww. That's so sweet of your mother. I would sit and talk with her about it and make sure it's what she wants to do. My mom is on the heavy side but not big enough for lapband so she is just eating healthy with me while I go through the process and exercising with me. Just have a talk with your mom and see what's up. That's so sweet though, brings a tear to my eye. I wish you luck in everything you do. -
Congrats. If only everyone's journey only took 9 weeks that's quick! My surgery wont be until October or November. Congrats again and good luck!

Looking into Lap-Band :)
Froggi replied to ByeByeBonBon's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hello Laura and welcome! When I started learning about lapband I was so excited and now that I'm on my journey I couldn't be happier. It's great to know we are going to get our health back. I'm 22 around your age so if you need to know anything ask. -

On my Way, finally it seems like
Froggi replied to Great2BThin's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It depends on your insurance. My insurance requires the 6 month diet. I started today. It seems like forever but I think it's going to go quickly! I lost 3 pounds! -
It sounds like you just drank too much liquid for your stomach ajusting to the fill.

Feeling Unmotivated!! HELP!
Froggi replied to kyrstenmarie's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I know exactly how you feel. I just started my 6 month diet and when I found out I had to do it I was very sad that I had to wait so long. But in the long run you learn so much more and it makes everything in the end so much easier. I had my first appt for it today. All I can say is stick with it and keep trying I am 22 and 416 pounds I know it's hard and you want to hate yourself for failing but you gotta pick yourself right back up and try again. I had days when I cried and cried. Once you start the process and come on here and talk to people like I do it helps time go by faster. Just keep your head up it will get easier. And know that when you finish you can finally start to have a life. Good luck! -
Good luck! I just started my 6 month diet today! 11 more appts to go and I already lost 3 pounds!
-
I would think you would still be approved because you did as you were told. I think it proves even more that you need the surgery. I wish you luck though.
-
That's odd. My seminar was 2 hours, plenty of time for everything. Never heard of an all day one.

Six more weeks. :(
Froggi replied to SeattleSweetie's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Aww that sucks! Cause now you have to go through the pain twice...but it's good that you can still have it done! I had my supervised diet and exercise start today...11 more appts to go I lost 3 pounds!!! Feel better. -

Hi everyone! My surgery is on Thursday!
Froggi replied to karen21375's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Welcome Karen. Good luck with surgery. How long of a journey did you have to get to now? -
I've never heard of talking with a health coach over the phone lol. I am waiting on my psych evaluation and I'm starting my 6 month diet thingy tomorrow by having a 1 hour appt with my nutritionest and 1 hour appt with dietician.
-
Hope things go well. Waiting for insurance sucks and then finding out you have to do 6 more months of waiting for surgery for a supervised diet sucks too. I hope your insurance isn't too bad. Good luck.
-
My surgery with everything is going to be 17,000 for everything and fills will be seperate. I'm going through insurance though. I'd just keep calling and saying you feel really hungry and don't want to set yourself back after going so far and doing so well. For now I'd drink lots of liquids to help ease the hunger. Other than that I don't know what to tell you.

Help!!! How to obtain 5 year history of obesity
Froggi replied to Coley21's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am the same way, I only went to the doctor when I felt like there was something wrong. My insurance didnt require a 5 year history though they just want me to do a 6 month supervised weight loss before I get surgery, so I am doing that. All I did was try my best to write down all the things I did and how much I thought I weighed. But I've definetly been obese for more than 5 years, pretty much almost 20 out of 22 years. -
All doctor's offices are different. Mine doesn't answer the phone often either. All I can say is cut out sugars and sodas. I'm doing that now and I'm just starting a 6 month supervised diet tomorrow. Also I'd get baby silverware (or just start taking small bites) and chew a lot!!! Also try to learn to eat without drinking anything...that's the thing I am going to have the most trouble with. Good luck!:biggrin2:

My First Visit With Surgeon
Froggi replied to Kat56's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The first appointment I had was checking the heart talking and filling out paperwork on history etc. I had all the tests and labs done the next week and now I am working on a 6 month supervised diet starting tomorrow so I'd say around the end of october or beginning of november I should be close to surgery (hopefully) Oh and I'm waiting for my psych appt might found out when that is tomorrow actually.
