I keep a food journal of all I eat each meal calories each meal how i felt when I ate what I was doing and add all the calories up at the end of the day. It helps me control what I intake and helps me know how many calories I need to burn when I exercise. It's very helpful and it's helped me lose weight. :cool2:

I say start with the salad then eat a small portion of a slider food.

I know that it sucks but it might actually be better this way. My GP was against WLS too so I decided to get one of the doctors at the hospital here that knows my Surgeon for Lapband to be my doctor and since then things have been fine. Just working on my 6 month diet. After that full-throttle into bandland!

Congrats Lauren on starting month 5! All I have left is my ekg, endoscopy, the rest of my 6 months and meet my surgeon. :cool2:

I start my 2nd month on June 4th. I know how you feel. It feels like forever but my first month has been going by quickly and I've already had fantastic results. I lost 8.5 pounds in 2 weeks and I can't wait to see how much more I lost on the 4th. I wish you luck.

So...today I found out I get kicked off my insurance on December 31st, 2008. What if something goes wrong or something and my 6 month diet goes a little past 6 months or my pre-op testing does or I can't quite get the surgery in before December. We were told before by the insurance as long as I am living with my mom and she can file for me on taxes then I could be on her insurance. And now they tell me this. WTF. I just have this odd feeling not everything is going to get done before then. I should be having surgery maybe in Oct possibly Nov. But if something extends out and takes a little longer I am afraid I am going to be screwed and went through all of this for nothing. I would be heartbroken.

I'm being kicked off my insurance because it's my mothers (I'm currently unemployed) and I'm turning 23 August 7th since I am turning 23 the age where insurance no longer covers (which we didnt know until yesterday) On December 31st I will be taken off. Before we were told as long as my mother could have me on her taxes and I lived with her there would be no problem but there is. So today I called the insurance and talked to the lady I always talked to, she said if we had the doctor's office fax all my past history that I had and weight loss to them that they could possibly shorten my 6 month diet to where it wasn't so close and down to the wire in December. Well they faxed the information and She called back said within a week I should know if it can be shortened. I sure hope it can I don't want to get this far and have to end this whole journey. Wish me luck. I sure hope something works out.:thumbup:

I've been dieting my whole life too but this is way different. It's helping me prepare for surgery.

I've been on my 6 month for 3 weeks now and have already lost 8.5 pounds probably more but I can't weigh myself until my next appt June 4th lol. I can't wait until I can buy a scale that can actually weigh me!

I cant sleep with clothes on and all parts of my body have to be covered up to my head and even part of it. I have to have a fan on and all I can wear to bed to be comfy is a bra and panties hehe. :crying:

Yeah I have to take huge huge drinks like drink almost a whole bottle of water and pills still get stuck and I def wont be able to do that after surgery and it would suck for a pill to cause a PB. lol.

It's not that I don't want to do the 6 month diet I wouldnt mind that at all I just dont want my stuff to extend clear to december then me not being able to have surgery after going through all of this. Thanks everyone for the kind words.

I have probs swallowing my pills already as is...so I will always need to crush mine or open them. Pills get stuck in my throat.

I was told I could take my meds but after surgery I will need to crush them or open the capsule and mix them with a drink/food.

Ask your surgeon. Hope you feel better.

I was told I'd be awake for mine. That's why I am like ehhh kinda worried/scared.
