Question about the purpose of the 6 months of supervised dieting
Froggi replied to Bjornsyouruncle's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've asked my insurance several times if I have to do the 6 month if I have a bmi higher than 40. Mine is 60 and they still said I had to...I'm going to call and ask again though because I have not seen many people on here with BMI's like mine who had to do the 6 months. -

A question for carbonated soft drinks
Froggi replied to hstella's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My doc says no caffiene or carbonation ever after surgery. I stopped back in feb and my surgery should be in November. Carbonation expands the pouch and caffiene can irritate your stomach. So I kicked both out of my diet already. Water is my best friend :w00t: -

I think like that a lot. I keep thinking about school reunions like I think I have one next year in June pretty sure and it will be awesome for people to see me even after just having surgery in November 08. I keep thinking wow I wonder how much smaller I will be then. And then imagine how small I will be when I see them after another 5 years! I get excited thinking about that. I wish it was November! I can't wait until I have my band! I still have 5 months of my supervised diet then I can join band land/band camp! :w00t:

I want some dang peanut butter! Can you get peanut butter flavored jello pudding? :w00t:

My doc and nurse and everyone were already impressed with how much I knew about the surgery. I seemed to be the only one who looked up information way before I even started the journey. :w00t:

Getting closer to getting banded
Froggi replied to Long2BFree's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Congratulations. I can't wait until my 6 month diet is over!! I wish you lots of luck. -
The band is not in the way of lapband. Lots of people get their gallbladder out during lapband or after lapband surgery. I had my gallbladder out when I was 15. The pain of the attacks was worse than the surgery pain, but yet I was drugged up LOL

These guys motivate me so much I have been walking at least 2 miles every day some days up to 5 miles  It's becoming easier I do it in spurts throughout the day and it's actually really energizing I feel sore after but really motivated. :tt2:

I pulled a calf muscle yesterday walking too hard and I still walked 3 miles today  People like Salsa make me strive to be better when I feel like a failure. :tt2:

If you like sweets buy sugar free candies, or sugar free pudding etc. That way you get the sweet but not all the sugar. Tis what I do and I am not even banded yet
-
You have had such a huge success with Lapband. I'm glad I can talk to someone like you

if it wasn't for my mom i wouldnt be getting this surgery. She found out they were getting it locally and helped me find out info on the doc etc. I had already found a bunch of info online for traveling to someplace but thanks to her I'm getting it done close to home and she is with me 100% she takes me to all my appts. And while I am on the diet, she is eating good too to help me along. I did have several 'friends' who said why don't you actually TRY yourself to lose weight. Some people just don't think about what they are saying at all. Or they don't have much of a brain or common sense.

that's awesome. Congrats.

Mmm, it's been forever since I've had peanut butter.

went to meeting, hospital wants $500.00 out pocket
Froggi replied to lpglarry's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I don't understand this at all. I don't pay anything for all my program until after surgery, and my insurance will pay most of it. I have never heard of them charging an upfront fee. -
that much tea isn't good for you if you are going to drink that much tea try to drink around that much water as well or try adding some water to your daily routine.

I like jello.

A thread for Single Bandsters

This sounds absolutely fantastic. I will have a different kind of protein powder for shakes, but I will make these when the time comes. Thanks for the recipe  :tt2: -
I write everything I eat down and all of my exercise in a daily log. It helps me keep track of my calories and keeps my exercise on track. As for exercising I do lots of walking. Slow/brisk whatever it may be. I also stretch and do a bit of pilates with 2 lb weights, and I do beginners yoga. I have the best results with walking though. It does wonders. When I get hungry, and I've already had enough food or I am craving something bad for me I grab a Water, or a banana, eat a small bowl of salad or find something to do like walk or get on the computer. I have found when I have other stuff to do it's easier not to over-eat. Dealing with stress without food actually is easier than I thought it was going to be. I am not banded yet but with this diet I am on for my insurance I am on a specific calorie intake (1200-1600) and I must exercise and have at least 60oz of water a day. When I feel stressed I go walk or go sit outside and listen to the birds, get on the computer and come on here, write, read a book. Anything that will get my mind off the food. It's actually really helpful and I have seen good results. Hope I was some help.
