As for it being too hot outside to exercise. Exercise inside. Saying it's too hot outside is a huge excuse when you can do stuff inside too. Buy some walking in place videos, some jogging videos, pilates, yoga, aerobics, weight training. It isn't that hard. I hardly ever exercise outside, mostly inside in my basement in front of a TV, and it does me just fine. The weather is no excuse not to do SOME kind of exercise.

What Am I doing so WRONG...(or do I just suck)
Froggi replied to willbefine's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I'd say just keep doing what you're doing. You're doing wonderfully. Just keep positive. When your third fill comes around you should feel more restriction, that's how it seems to be for almost everyone. I wish you luck. -
I sure hope things go okay, The other day i was at one of my nutrition appts and the nurse comes up to me says. Well we got a letter from your insurance requesting even more testing than we required from what we learned about your medical history. It's so frustrating that they want to draw things out longer and longer. The nurse is trying to get ahold of them and tell them I don't need the extra testing. I hope things turn out well for both of us.

What would you like to do/acheive once you have reached goal??
Froggi replied to gg2007BandSTAR's topic in The Gals' Room
I remember when I was 18 and went to a theme park for a choir competition. I remember really wanting to go on some of the rollercoasters. So I got in line with some friends, waited for 30 minutes...only to get up there and not even fit in the seat and running down the stairs crying so embarrassed and never wanting to be seen again. The only ride I was able to ride was the stupid ferris wheel and I felt like a total failure right then and there. I am almost 23 now and even bigger now than I was before. A goal for me is to definetly be able to fit in the seats of rollercoasters and not have to walk off crying because I am so huge I can't do that. It was mortifying and ruined the whole trip. I was so depressed. -
Hope they aren't jerks. Just think positive, I am sure things will go fine. I keep worrying my insurance is going to draw things out longer and longer and make it to where I can't get my surgery before December 31st, when it's supposed to be in November. I am turning 23 and get kicked off the insurance at the end of the year, so I am hoping everything goes in my favor. I sometimes wish I wasn't turning 23 on august 7th, but I can't stop it from happening. All I can do is hope and believe and think positively about everything going smoothly and my surgery being in November like it should.

Haha that's a wonderful way to think. I wish you luck with the insurance woes. I too am in the insurance stage, tis not much fun.

I'd talk to your doc and learn as much as I can about lapband and on here aswell. I have learned soooooooo much on this forum. Everyone is so nice and helpful. We just gotta go through things day by day. Hope to hear from you again.

no support and a fat liver?
Froggi replied to detroitdame75's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Good luck. I hope everything goes well and that you have a fast recovery. -
There has been quite a bit of negativity on here lately, I do agree to that. I myself have a lot of weight to lose you can see by looking at my ticker. I started at 419 lbs and I am down to 407 from being on a diet for my insurance. I haven't had the surgery yet but I plan to be banded in November. Bypass may be the decision for some but in the long run, and short run, it's a lot more dangerous than lapband. With bypass they reroute your stomach and intestines, you have dumping syndrome, you pretty much can't have suger anymore, your hair falls out, you can bleed out, mortality rates are higher, longer hospital stay, longer recovery, you can gain it all back, your insides are all cut up etc. With lapband, it controls your portions, makes you full quicker, it can be adjusted loose or tighter, shorter hospital stay, shorter recovery time, no dumping syndrome or less likely to get it, less likely to have hair fall out, you can still have sugar, less likely to have internal problems, less chance of mortality etc. If you happen to gain weight back you can go have it reajusted so you are more satisfied again, and it's a lot easier to reverse, and cheaper etc. As for working hard. You have to have willpower, exercise, and try to eat right no matter what type of surgery you have. I have seen people have bypass and gain everything back but I've also seen people with lapband gain everything back, then they go get a fill and adjusted and start losing again. The band is a tool placed inside of you to help curb your appetite, if you eat the wrong kinds of foods such as sliders (chocolate chips etc) you will get hungry quicker and probably eat too much and gain weight. If you eat foods rich in Protein they will fill up your pouch and should work considerably in making you not hungry for an extended period of time. Either way with everyone it's different. No matter which surgery you choose I wish you luck and I hope all of the negativity on the forum lately hasn't scared you off. Try to find the positive threads too, because lapband has worked for many many people some have lost over 200 lbs and are still losing! All in all there are going to be failures, and they're are going to be successes. There's always a possibility for problems too and that always needs to be in the back of your mind. If you feel something is wrong call your doc etc. You can always come on here for help, or encouragement whatever it may be. We are all here to help one another in these journeys we are taking in order to be healthier and happier. I wish you lots of luck and hope to hear more from you soon. Don't be discouraged, just keep looking up info, talk to your doctors, and keep a positive attitude. The answer will come to you.:tongue2:

Does your DH or SO know how much you weigh?
Froggi replied to cQQlgirl's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Whenever I like someone and they like me I always tell them how much I weigh, if they don't like it tough crap on them. It doesn't mean I am not a fantastic person. Usually they don't mind though. So yeah whenever I am in a relationship with someone they know how much I weigh. -

I absolutely loved reading this BJean! Couldn't agree with you more.:tongue2: Sometimes I think we should all be completely colorblind so no one is judged for their skin color, people would still find something else to not like someone for though, they always do. Thanks for such a wonderful post. -
What would you like to do/acheive once you have reached goal??
Froggi replied to gg2007BandSTAR's topic in The Gals' Room
I'd like to be able to mow the yard (did it yesterday took me 2 hours and i about died) without getting dizzy, horribly sweaty, passing out, physically sick, not being able to move or stand, not being able to breathe. Omg may I say yesterday was torture and I plan on never doing that again any time soon. -

Diet Soda, Post-Lap Band
Froggi replied to SweetCrazySarah's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My doctor had me quit drinking any kind of pop already and I don't have surgery until November. Carbination can cause your band to slip, flip, and stretch. Drinking pop expecially 4 weeks AFTER surgery, is a very very bad idea. I'd quit immediatly. -
I know why you said it I read all the posts. You still said perhaps our kids are smarter and by that you meant with going with a different surgery than lapband. I know what I saw but I am done with the negativity.
