No problem, I know how frustrating I felt when I felt so very hunger so close to surgery. Good luck! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I felt the same way. Everyone one told me it was "head hunger," but to me it felt differently than the "head hunger" I feel now. After a 3 or 4 days that passed. I do experience the occasional cravings, but nothing intense like I did. I am 18 days post op now, so I am not an expert, but I will say it is tons better for me. You might ask your dr or nut about how much is too much to drink. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Thank you for the encouragement. It's amazing what a night of sleep and a Protein shake can do for you. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I don't really have a question, I just wanted to share to a group of people that understand this process. Today was one of my toughest days yet. On my program, we go to soft foods at 2 weeks post op. My surgery was on April 14. Eating has been very uncomfortable. I feel bloated and just icky. My body seems handle poultry ok, but food is so unappealing. I never thought I would feel that way about food. Getting my Protein is such a chore, I have returned to drinking Protein shakes for Snacks. I know it's worth it, but it is very challenging emotionally. I want to feel "good" and "normal" again. I am still excited that I am making positive change. I can feel my relationship with good changing so much. Thanks for reading my complaining and ramblings Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I went with the gastric bypass because I had diabetes. I am almost two weeks post op and it looks like it is gone. *fingers crossed* My understanding it it has a better success rate with diabetes remission than the sleeve. My understanding is it also has overall better weight loss success than the sleeve. My doctor also said there really isn't a lot of long term data on the sleeve. I did debate it since there is a huge commitment to taking vitamins/supplements but in the end, I felt like I wanted to attack my weight loss aggressively. I want to add as many happy and healthy years to my life as possible. Best of luck to you. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I am 8 days post op. I feel really lucky because my recovery has been great so far. Once I got past nausea the first two days, I have been able to drink my Protein and Water easily. I have had very little pain. I have only taken 1 pain pill since I left the hospital. Other than minor soreness and a little fatigue, I feel pretty "normal." For the past three days, I feel like I am starving. Sometimes I can even feel my old stomach growl. My new stomach feels like it would growl if it could. I have read about head hunger. Maybe this is it, it doesn't feel like it though. Am I crazy? My dietician told me I can drink another shake a day and see if that helps. Any advice? I am pushing through. I know it could be a lot worse, so I don't plan on doing anything against doctors orders. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I had the bypass. I am getting about 64-80 oz of Fluid a day. I am taking Gas-X also. I am taking 40 mg of omeprazole for acid . Maybe it is just head hunger/cravings, but I feel hungry like I would have pre-surgery. I try to keep my mind off food. Thanks for your information, it is really helpful. I am hoping that once I make it to soft foods, this will ease up. The evenings are very difficult. I am glad I am not alone in this! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
