    liquid only after fills

I have my first fill in three weeks and was told the same thing. I go back to stage three for three days then stage four for four days. Then back to normal again. What does it feel like to get the fill or have you experienced with it?

  4. Hello Lucy,

I am so sorry for not getting back to you. I just happen to find it when I was searching for something. My BMI is 46 and right now 281 pounds started at 300 pounds. I went to Beth Israel Hospital in Boston. I have BC/BS insurance and I was referred by my primary for lapband. Could you get your primary to write a letter to assist you?

    Hello there

Welcome and enjoy! I am still excited about my decision and banded on 3/17/08. It's a wonderful journey and the weight loss is the goal for life.
  7. Hello I am in Boston, MA - I am allowed to eat oatmeal (lose), Yogart Smoothies, Riccado cheese with no sugar/low fat spagetti sauce I put in microwave or oven and you think you are eating pasta or lasagna. Have you tired all the sugar free puddings or rice puddings? Cream soups (I love them) and of course blend, blend, blend.

Anyone else have BC Ma. ?

Hello Angie, I also have BCBS of Mass. I started with weight watchers and went for check up and my doctor referred me to dr. schneider at BI Hospital in Boston. Because I have been with my doctor for eight years and he had a history of my weight gain and loss on record I didn't have to show my weight trail for them. I did have to call BCBS and fill out a form for my doctor making sure they will accept the band and it took about 10 minutes over the phone and he explained everything to me about lapband and what they expect from me. The doctor's office submitted all the information to bcbs and was banded 3 1/2 months later. I wish you the best and it will be worth it in the end. I am excited with you!
  9. Congrats! I pray all goes well for you on Monday.

    Hello from Boston!

Hello I work in Boston and was banded at Beth Israel Hospital on 3/17/08. I enjoyed all the staff there and very helpful. I am glad I started the process in November 2007, and looking forward to new me. Welcome - I love the website also! Two weeks before my surgery date I was given a diet to follow mostly liquids during the day with one meal in the evening. I was told by losing weight before surgery it will make your liver smaller and lighter to lift during surgery and it helps the surgeons. Also, I had to walk 30 minutes a day or some sort of exercise. I really feel that it helped when after surgery you are on liquids for another three to four weeks. Good luck!

    Having trouble drinking your water?

Have you tried propel or crystal light to add to your water for flavor. These two help me and I also need a little extra to drink the water each day!
  13. I like the idea and I think I will put a few together for myself. I truly know what you mean about the wedding ring. I had to do two weeks of liquids prior to surgery then liquids for another four weeks and was banded on 3/17/08. I am happy to report this week 3/28/08 was the first time in almost a year I can put the ring on without the swelling. I think I will set a goal of wearing my old clothes size 22.
  14. Hello I was also banded on 3/17/08! I am experiencing middle of my stomach tenderness all over my leftside of my stomach. I was told by my doctor it is because of all the work was done on that side. I do understand what you mean about the bloating feeling. Mine comes and goes, but work helps me get my mind off of it. I was told this feeling will pass in a few more weeks.

    Stomach bug?

Hello I was banded on 3/17/08 and released the next day. I went back to work on Friday of the same week. But felt better on Monday when I returned full time to work. The first week for me was getting around up and down in chairs and just get moving. The big transaction is food for me. You will be on Step 3 for a month or liquids and liquid Protein Drinks if you follow the same plan. This will take some adjustment for me, but now it's okay. It feels very sore on my left side and its been over a week or so now and the pain is much less now. I can work and walk around if any advice I can give is walk, walk, walk, and drink. I am excited the first three days I didn't say that it was tough, but now I am glad and looking forward to the new life for me and my family. Best!

    Not Hungry??

Hello I was also banded on 3/17/08 yes it will pass. But I eat shake with Protein and Water for Breakfast, yogart and water, snack then more Fruit 2o then Soup for lunch with water then dinner more soup and something to drink. This is less than 500 cals a day, but like you I sometimes make myself eat it just to say I am eating. I am having problem eating more protein, but try to sip the water during the day and see if that will help. Best!

    Bulging and pain - Help!!

Hello V, I was banded on Monday, 3/17 and released the next day. I feel good, but I also experienced pain on my left side for about a week. When I spoke with my doctor three days after surgery he said it is because all the major work was done on that side so you will feel more pain on that side. I was given liquid colace to help with constipation, but it upset my stomach so much I had to stop and four days later it happened naturally. I attended a group meeting and found out some people can feel the port it is usually after they have reached their goal weight. For work I went back on Friday of the same work. CRAZY I know but I had too! I have a desk job so it was not bad. I am started back full time after one week, but walking and moving at home helped me feel better. Please call the doctor or nurse to ask more questions and get the help you need. Best!

    Hello Everyone :)

Welcome aboard! I also went through three months of test and appointments before finally getting a surgery date. In the end it will be worth it for you and your new you. My insurance also wanted everything documented on what I have tried in the pass and what I am presently trying to do. You can do it - I have 140 pounds to go! Congrats on the new you soon.
  24. My session took 30 minutes with another candidate. She discussed what to eat before being banded and what to expect after. I am in Boston with BIMC we also received a book that took you from day to day what to do before surgery and after surgery step by step which is excellent! The psycho appointment was fun and I learned so much about me and the reason behind why I am eating and why I am 150 pounds overweight. I really enjoyed the appointments and such a learning curve for me. Enjoy!
