  1. Thanks Applesmith for your comments, they made me laught because it was exactly what i was thinking when i wrote the post. I just need to hang in there and eventually the weight will come off. I have an appt. in a couple of weeks for a followup, hopefully the Dr. will let me get another fill soon. Thanks again for your encouragement! K.
  2. I was banded in early Jan. and lost 10 lbs. on liquid and mushies but have not lost a pound since. I have had 3 difficult fills as my port is twisted sideway and is very hard to get at. Now i have 4cc in a 14cc band but i don't feel a thing. There is some restriction when i start to eat, especially if i eat too quickly but if i wait a few minutes this subsides and i could eat as much as I want. The only thing that is keeping me at the same weight is will power, which is dwindling. I am starting to wonder why i did this in the first place. I could keep my weight steady before i was banded; is this ever going to work? How many fills did some of you have in a 14 cc band before you noticed restriction? Help please, i am loosing faith in this band. :confused2:
  3. I am new to the fill stuff and I see I am not alone with my worries. I don't feel full at all. I am at 4cc's in a 14 band and the doc made it sound like I should be feeling really full with this last fill, but I am not! I heard it could take a few fills to find the right spot but seeing that others have six or more fills is reassuring, although I am sure hard on your end. I have been banded since Jan. 7 and have lost 16 lbs. but things have just stopped and it is too easy to cheat. I am getting so frustrated this is taking so long and feeling like I wish I had not done this for all the trouble it's been and the weight just doesn't seem to be coming off. Just so frustrated!

This is very funny and did make me feel better. I have been very discouraged as i am loosing, SLOWLY, but have lost 20+ Lbs. already and nobody at work or with friends that don't know I was banded have noticed or commented at all. Glad to hear i am not alone.

Are there any NJ support groups out there?

Overlook Hospital in Summit, NJ has a monthly support group. I don't know the dates, but I think they are one Monday a month. Overlook has a phone directory of groups and when they meet. Give them a call. K.
  7. I was just banded Jan. 7 and have lost 22 lbs. so far. I go for my first fill in 2 weeks. I bit nervous about that. Dr. Feteiha here in NJ has been great, their office is great too. :biggrin2:

    Back to square one!

Good Luck with the new job and I hope the insurance situation improves. I have a question about your insurance when you switched jobs. Did the new ins. tell you any follow up with surgeon and/or fills would be covered or do they consider this a pre-existing condition? I want to swtich to my husbands ins. company as the coverage is better and i costs us nothing while my current ins. through my work cost me an arm and a leg. Any advice? K.
