Protein shakes from POwder- why must be consumed within 10 minutes?
pinkypearly1908 replied to ironpoorer's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Ive heard of drinking Protein within 30 minutes after working out but never within 10 minutes of mixing. Perhaps its the brand hes using. I say keep doing what works for you. Sent from my SM-N920V using the BariatricPal App -
Sleeve vs bypass
pinkypearly1908 replied to shelbys mom's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I decided to have the sleeve. I did have to take protonix for the first two months after surgery. But after the third month I didn't need them anymore. My body just needed time to adjust to a major change. Sent from my SM-N920V using the BariatricPal App -
Honey, emotional abuse can do a number on your self esteem and confidence. Believe me what your exhusband did was all by design to keep you under his thumb. The moment you started to see the light he found a replacement. Well the devil is a lie. You are none of those bad things. Ditto what everyone has said. Take care of you daughter and do what you like and what you want. Find out what its like to answer to no one. Check in with no one. Try something new and make new girlfriends. Try to find someone close by on this website and have coffee. As far as companionship sure its normal to miss it, but what is companionship if the person would rather be somewhere else. And that old cliche is true (I used to hate it until I understood for mysel) you cant truly feel love or give love until you love yourself first because youll always be depending on that person to fill a void they can never fill. Annd when times get really tough, get a vibrator and keep it moving. Real talk between us girls!! Best of luck to ya! Sent from my SM-N920V using the BariatricPal App

3 Month Sleeve-versary
pinkypearly1908 replied to miss_smiles's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Me too. I had my sleeve March 22. Exercise is great, Im back to weight lifting and walk/jog. I feel pretty energized. In the beginning I was having buyers remorse bc of the soreness but its gone away now so Im good. Eating better and healthier is a must bc my stomach just wont tolerate the bad food anymore. The only thing that was frustrating was I went on a date and I could only eat the 2-3 tablespoons and I was full. My date was like thats it, and I was so embarrassed. But other than that, so far so good. I cant give you a number bc in the past the scale has been discouraging, but Ive gone from a 22W to a 18W and Im well on my way to a 16W. Non-scale victories
pinkypearly1908 replied to RoadToMe's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hey guys! This is the perfect topic. I just wanted to share with somebody! I survived my first buffet since surgery. It was for a baby shower but I stuck to soft Proteins and veggies. The first buffet in my entire life where I did not overeat. For me it was a victory???? Sent from my SM-N920V using the BariatricPal App -

I was allowed this plus one can of Progresso Light under 80 calories for dinner. None of the creamy soups were under 80 calories. So my guess would be no. Too many calories and carbs. Sent from my SM-N920V using the BariatricPal App -

Sleeping on stomach post opp
pinkypearly1908 replied to meg627's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I felt your pain. Probably at two to 3 weeks out I could sleep on my stomach again. Even then my left side was still a little sore like I did too many crunches. Walking, stretching, and heating pad helped the soreness eventually go away. Best of Luck! Sent from my SM-N920V using the BariatricPal App -
Hello all! PCOS and sleeved about a month ago. My worst side effect from the PCOS has been cystic acne, does anybody have any experience with that reducing or going away altogether? Sent from my SM-N920V using the BariatricPal App

Status post surgery something went wrong
pinkypearly1908 replied to my eyes are hungry's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Im no doctor but I wish someone had told me that I might not be able to tolerate plain Water. Try apple juice watered down, crystal light, ginger tea ( make sure you strain it), decaf tea. Using these tricks I was able to get more fluids in. I hope things turn around for you soon! Sent from my SM-N920V using the BariatricPal App -
Sorry I dont have Tricare, but Office 1 was my experience with Federal Bluecross BlueShield. (Im a civilian) I could never get a straight answer on how much all this was going to cost, so for me the decision came down to if I really wanted to do this for me. The answer was yes so I was determined to make it happen. At some point I decided that I just had to go for it. I also thought the 90 days waiting was a bit ridiculous but the time went fast, you get a bunch of tests, scans, bloodwork and nutritional classes that prepare you for success with what will be a big change to your body. Sorry I couldnt be of more help, but I hope this provides you with some insight.

The struggle is real
pinkypearly1908 replied to apmcleish's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Im 4 weeks post op and felt the same way when I was one week out. But dehydration and a infection landed me back in the emergency room. So get your fluids in its a must. A suggestion I wish someone had told me. Plain Water might taste disgusting right now so add Crystal light. Or real ginger steeped in hot water, this is really good for upset stomach but make sure you strain it. Or decaf iced tea. Or real apple juice watered down. For the Protein try the Isopure clear drinks. They have a little after taste but for me I just could not do any shake! It gets better, hang in there. Darima77 you had your surgery 1 day before me. I am also experiencing this 3rd week stall. So its comforting to find out this is a thing with a name. I also get full after two bites and it seems like new foods I try give me heartburn. But people on here tell me to hang in there this is all part of the process. Cheers to our success! Will I ever be able to eat more than two bites?
pinkypearly1908 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm about 3 weeks post op and I'm tolerating my mushy food choices okay, but it seems like I eat two bites and feel full. Then 15 minutes later I'm starving and eat two more bites. And that's my cycle, is this the way its going to be? I feel crazy. -
