Ladies, I also have Tricare. I found it rather easy, for approval. All I had to do is show I could stick to a meal plan, EGD done and Physch evaluation. Request a letter of recommendation for my prime Dr. It was fairly easy. The only frustrating thing is Dr.s and working around my husbands schedule. This week has been a very long week , started off on happy note, weighed myself, I've lost 35lbs even be fore surgery. Been tired all week, felt like I haven't slept. Friday was the longest day, came home form work to a letter from my insurance co..... It said APPROVED. no I'm nervous excited, scared, rethinking all of this, do I really want to do this, but of course I want to do this, I need to be healthy! I am scheduled for September 26. I feel the same as the rest of you, EGD done blood work, nutrition done, physh done. now just trying to get things ready for pre op diet, post op diet, and now is the waiting game, waiting on insurance approval, once that is here, I can breath just a little. The fear is what if it doesn't work for me. I can diet, and loose weight, but once my body figures out what is going on it, stops loosing.... I've already lost 28 lbs. The last few weeks have been a bit frustrating, now things are going in the right direction. Talk to the Dr office this week , paperwork is submitted to insurance company now we wait for approval. Hoping to hear very quickly. I'm a little ocd and have to have everything in order before surgery, at home and in my office. I'm often asked if I'm excited, um no, nervous, scared. Something I heard just last weekend, in a group I was attending. Is that Victoria Secret will take back a bra as long as you have your receipt Now the lady was telling us that she went to be sized at VS and 3 weeks later she went back to get resized and then is when they told her as long as you have your receipt they will take it back. So I went yesterday for a follow up with my dietitian, I guess I'm doing something right. I feel I'm ready for the new me, starting off with stopping all foods that are restricted, and practicing the new habits, (got a few more to work on, minor) I have my surgery date, just need to get the approval from Insurance and Psych evaluation, which is a story all on it own.... So I posted last week I had the appointment for my Psych evaluation and the Dr never made it in, I was told she would call me.... As of yesterday I have heard NOTHING. So I called the office. They told me to call back this morning and they will have it figured out. This just tells me, that I am not important to them. So today is going to be a great day, as I continue to smile and enjoy my life. I do hope everyone is this forum has great success. I think of it as my fountain of youth.. My best wishes to everyone. I have 2 one about 23 years ago small sleeping cat, and the second one 3 years ago.

I had my Psych appointment on 6/7. It would be nice to have been able to complete it but the Dr never showed up, so she was suppose to call me, it' s now 2 days later have heard nothing from her. Little frustrated, I guess I'm gonna have to call myself. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

I'm 52, been overweight most of my life. My wake up call was in January when I was having knee trouble and nothing was helping, the Dr I went to stated very clearly "no one is going to do anything for you at your current weight"..... So here I am. Don't have a surgery date yet, few more thing to complete and hope to have it done soon. Been pretty healthy most of my life, just overweight. I am in the same situation, I have a friend that thinks I need to tell her everything that is going on with me but she is the biggest gossip, and negative nancy in the office. I am not one to miss work so when I am out for Dr's appoiment she questions. 4 people in my life know what I am working towards. I have told them this is very private for me and if I hear anyone other than the 3 I work with, I will know who was talking behind my back. My husband is the only family that knows
