Throwing Up All The Time, Making Me Tired At Work
talkintina replied to jen122277's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hi there, I know you don't want to hear it, but I did exactly what you did and the only time I stopped throwing up was after I finally had an unfill after 4 weeks. Of course everyone tells you how bad it is to be throwing up all the time...band slippage, esophagos erosion, etc, etc. But none of that matters when you're losing the weight...I do know. But I finally got sick of being sick and when I called to ask to be unfilled they said absolutely, get in here now. The center where I go was very supportive and said they breathed easy when I finally made the decision. You have to go through it on your own. I've been unfilled now for 6 weeks and still losing, but I know that I have to have a fill on Tuesday and am very nervous. I'm actually the opposite now. All I can say is just be careful, even though I know how you feel. You don't want to have to have the band removed either. Just be patient with yourself. Sometimes I think we just get frantic because we compare ourselves with bypass patients. But don't worry, it comes off. Well, I know I rambled, but I hope I helped in some small way. Good luck! Congratulations on the weight loss! But, I'm actually concerned about the erosion of your band after only 1 1/2 years. Is there a reason for that?

Sorry to gross everyone out, but I need to ask about this. I vomit a lot...this can't be normal. It's mostly just that "slime" stuff, but sometimes food too. I'll admit that usually I bring it on by putting my finger down my throat because I'm in so much pain that I need relief. This happens at LEAST at one meal a day, if not two. Usually lunch and dinner. I know I'm eating too fast and/or too much, but I just can't seem to get this right. I've lost about 30 pounds now, my surgery date was 10/31/05. I'm happy with the weight loss, but I really don't like feeling this way all the time. Can anyone help???

Try Vitalady.com for a large selection of different flavors. The only thing I found is that it did take a while to receive the product. But they have a LOT to choose from. I also liked the Unjury unflavored. Sometimes I even sneak a little in my son's orange juice...hahaha

My pre-op diet is officially blown
talkintina replied to Firecallie's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Jini, Don't kill yourself over it. I came to believe it wasn't a big deal. I couldn't lose a pound before my surgery and my doctor finally said just don't over do it and eat light the day before. It is helpful for both your own sake in getting used to the diet and for the liver reasons, but it isn't the end of the world. Call the doctor and tell them, it will make YOU feel better and I'm sure they will just say not to worry about it and try to do better. As you've seen by the responses, everyone's experience is different. I didn't find the liquid diet so tough mainly because I didn't feel like eating much the first few days I was focused on healing. After that I did have some watered down cream Soups (that I would have been able to sip through a straw) and that helped. I'm still in the mushy stage and frankly I've been having a tougher time with that. It's just not easy getting used to how little you can eat, and how SLOOOOOOOOOOOOW you have to eat it. It's very painful otherwise. Good luck in your surgery! tina -
Good for you! That is awesome! Your weight loss today is great. You're an inspiration. Thanks for sharing, I can't wait to feel that too! Or to fit into a booth at a restaurant without my belly hitting it! Tina

And the winner is......The recipe with meat tenderizer. It seems to have done the trick. Of course now I'm afraid to eat anything...hahaha. Let's hope that stays with me. I didn't get to try some of the other things but wrote them down with the recipe and put it on my fridge for future reference. Thank you all so much for your help. Tina

You all look GREAT!!!! I can't even tell you how much you are inspiring me. Especially after a night and morning with a blockage. You start wondering why you did this....then I look at you all and I remember. Thank YOU!!! Tina -
Thanks for that suggestion as well! I'll tell you, if I was out and this happened I'd still find the nearest bathroom and get on all fours and try it. I'm writing all of these down and posting on my fridge. Ahhhmmmmm, not that I'm going to let it happen again...hahahaha. By the way, congratulations on everyone's successes. It helps keep me motivated to see how well you're all doing. I've got a LOOOOONNNNGGGG way to go. Great job, I bet you all look MAH-velous!!! Tina

Thank you all for your suggestions. I think I'm still blocked so I'm going to the store now to get those items. Though I don't know exactly where to find papaya emyzine. at least the pain has subsided considerably. wish me luck!

All better now. Wow. Rough night. I think this one will teach me to slow down. I vomited a few times. Don't want to do that again. Thanks for the tips, they really helped.

Thank You Tanya, that helps. I'm glad you mentioned about being tighter in the evening because it always happens during dinner when it does happen. I wonder if I could be that way as well. I'll try the drinking something warm an hour before as well. Thanks!
