Late June Sleeve Buddies?
susie66 replied to Maggie143's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My first appt is tomorrow. My doctor doesn't have a "soft food" stage, just puréed and slowly incorporate solids around week 4. I'm going to ask about that. Also, does anyone know if thinly sliced deli ham or turkey would be considered a "soft" food? -
Late June Sleeve Buddies?

Me too. I had a soft scrambled egg today and a spoonful of hummus. Both went down fine, although I realized my new stomach only holds 3/4 of one egg. Weird thing is I find it much easier to drink Water now that I've had "food". I've gotten a lot more water in today. And the egg and hummus improved my mood considerably. Late June Sleeve Buddies?

I just ordered some high protein soups. I need a break from the shakes. Everything seems so disgustingly sweet to me right now, I am dreaming of eggs and refried beans---anything savory that isn't broth! I didn't realize my tastes would change so fast. I liked the shakes pre-op. But even sugar free cranberry juice diluted with 3 parts water was way too sweet. -

When will I stop regretting this surgery?
susie66 replied to LadyJustice007's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm 5 days post op and really struggling today. The shakes and jello taste so cloyingly sweet to me now it is all I can do to drink one. I'm so sick of broth but it is a challenge to get all the fluids in. I'm tired, irritable and am wondering what I've done to myself. I have to return to work Wednesday and honestly don't know how I'm going to get through a workday. I thought I had prepared for this but obviously not. Please tell me it gets better. -
Surgery jealousy? Is that a thing?
susie66 replied to Miss.Bunny447's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It could also be resentment over losing a "fat buddy". People with addiction issues, be it drugs, drink, food will try to sabotage their co-addicts because they don't want to lose their enablers. -
Hi, I am scheduled for surgery on Tuesday 6/28. I have been on the preop diet for several days and I cannot sleep! Has anyone else had this issue?

My daughter has alopecia totalis, started when she was about 12. We tried the topical creams and treatments, but I drew the line at systemic steroids and we focused on getting her the best scalp prosthesis we could. She did incredibly well once she moved to a vacuum wig and a couple of years ago her hair started growing back. She ditched the wig about a month ago (she's 19 now) and is growing in a full head of hair with only one thin spot. Now she's been diagnosed with an auto-immune arthritis, so we're heading down the rabbit hole on that one now. Hugs for going through it, it's terribly traumatic. I hope her arthritis isn't too bad. So happy her hair grew back. Mine has been gone for 24 years. I tried an experimental drug last year. I did get some regrowth but also gained the weight. I stopped taking it because of the weight gain. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using the BariatricPal App

I have alopecia totalis and it was the latest treatment that caused me to gain 50 pds and ultimately decide on WLS.
