  1. mnwimomof3 do you mind if I ask if you were exercising much during those 6 months? If so, what type of exercises. Your results are awesome! I'm hoping for the same. I'm 2 weeks out and down 14 lbs. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Tell me i am not doomed to fail!

Please don't worry. That first week tells you nothing other than "OUCH". Your body is in shock and trying to recover. I didn't really notice things starting to change til day 9. I don't really let the scale tell me my progress. I can tell in my clothes. Hang in there sweetie. Follow your surgeon's instructions. It will happen! Promise!
  4. I hate to bring this topic up in a public forum but I don't have anyone else I can ask. So for you men out there, you'll probably want to stop reading this now, lol. I am 11 days post sleeve. I started my period today and the nausea is horrible. I never had nausea with my periods before I was sleeved. Has anyone else experienced this? Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

YAY!!! So glad you're doing well.
  6. I am 8 days post sleeve. My Water and Protein shakes still seem to be getting stuck before finally going down. Is this normal? Has anyone experienced this? If so, does it ever go away? It's rather uncomfortable. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

    Bottlenecked!

@@Christinamo7 it has been this ever since the surgery. I forgot to mention that I also had a hiatal hernia repaired at the same time. @@BigDog Bryan thank you for this information. I had no idea it took 1hr for 4 oz! Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  10. I can SOOOO relate to everything you've said. The 4th day was the absolute worst for me. The incision your speaking of was incredibly painful for me as well. Getting out of bed was excruciating. That 4th day I felt that perhaps I had made a huge mistake with this surgery. I too wanted to be off pain meds. However, day 5 was a lot better. By day 6 I felt good enough to return to work. Believe me, you're not alone. It gets better, I promise. Just hang in there.

How long was your hospital stay?

Had my surgery the morning of 4/12/16 and was home by that afternoon. I returned to work 4/18/16. It was just the right amount of time for me. Everyone heals differently.

    Surgery is tomorrow morning!

I was just sleeved 4/12. I stocked up on chicken and beef broth, bottled water, caffeine free Crystal Light which I had trouble finding. Everything is geared towards energy these days. I made the mistake of drinking unsweet tea. I completely forgot about the caffeine. I won't make that mistake again. I also stocked up on my protein shakes. Good luck on your new journey!!

    Had surgery on Tuesday 4/12

Hi Haley! I was sleeved on 4/12 as well! I am struggling in the same way. Did you also have a hiatal hernia repair? I'm having a very difficult time getting the Water down also. I was a Diet Coke addict previously so I'm dealing with those cravings as well. The incision sites are so painful that it makes it hard to even walk to the fridge for water. I am drinking Protein shakes recommended by my surgery center. They're called Premier and have 35gm protein per shake. So far I'm only able to get 1.5 of them in. They taste pretty good though! Hang in there my friend! It's rough now but from what I'm reading blue skies are ahead. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
