how did everyone's week go? I had the opening of the new daycare so it was CRAZY this week...especially since so many staff had either previously scheduled off or called in sick...oye it was rough...2 migrane headaches..BUT i didn't go crazy eating! This is big for me! Usually i would go straight to Mc Donald's for days like that...while I did go once...i was good. Nothing large..no extra's...and i'm chugging along. My next app w/ Dr.D is Dec 17th...paperwork, approval, and surgery date! FINALLY! I can't wait for this!
-
so did you find out if Lap Band can be done for you sister after RNY?
-
I haven't researched it, but from what I've been told, once you have RNY that's it...obviously no reversing it but I also believe that they will not do Lap Band on it....maybe i'm wrong?
-
you have to go with who you feel comfortable with! I'm sorry you weren't comfortable with Dr D. (i love him and his staff!), but I'm glad that you found someone who you do like!
-
Nov. 4th is soon! You'll be ok till then  Congrats on the 16 being too big! That's great! I go wednesday for my dress...she let it completely out and is going to fit it to me...that's good so I KNOW it will fit, but it would be nice to just have it be shortened... So I called to schedule my next app w/ Dr. D...they're booked to December! My appointment is Dec 17th, and that's when he sends in the paperwork and i'll get the approval..and then my surgery date! I"M SO EXCITED I CAN"T WAIT!!!!!!! I can't stress enough how READY i am for this! I'm working only one day a week at Sephora now...and marching band is over so i'm going to have SO MUCH TIME to go to the gym and work on ME. I will be in perfect condition for surgery by the time i see Dr D....even more so than now...i will make sure that there is nothing holding me back from it! I just wish I could get in to see him in Mid-November...maybe i'll get a phone call?
-
Congrats on the dress! That's the best feeling...i can't wait to shop in Arden B. and Victoria's Secret! I love their clothes...

Glad this fill went better than the first! Something was funky with the scale at Beyond Diets this week...i got on and it said i was down 10 POUNDS....as nice as that would have been I straight up told her "NO WAY am I down that much"...so I got back on and i stayed the same as last week...no loss but didn't gain so WOOHOO! That was my last mandatory beyond diets!!!!!!! I'm going again next week to get one more WI and then I'll have them write my letter for Dr D...i'm calling his office today to make the appointment with him! :rolleyes2: I can't even say how excited I am (but you all have been there so you DO know...lol) Oh! And I say the dress WILL ZIP in 2 weeks because not only have I been crazy good with my eating, but I'm having it let out and shortened tomorrow (going for the alterations) So i'm not going to go crazy trying to fit in it and make myself sick...but it WILL Fit....nicely if I might add.. How is everyonen else's week going? Hope everyone has a great weekend if I dont' get a chance to get back on...
-
i have to! Plus I have more motivation now....my bridesmaids dress that i have to wear on Nov 8th DOESNT ZIP! Yes I know I can have it let out...but still...FRUSTRATING! IT WILL ZIP IN 2 WEEKS!!! Just putting that out there...
-
so i was down the 4 from last week!! WOOHOO! I have one more Beyond Diets meeting that is mandatory before I can send in paperwork to insurance...and I only need to be down 5 to complete the full 20 pounds!! I'm SOOOOO close! :smile2:
-
so...i was up 4 this week....i know why. I actually ate food that I shouldn't...AND i got my "friend"...she always puts me up 3 or 4 pounds no matter what...and I had jeans on...lol I know it will come off again this week. I'm just impatient! I want my surgery! :tt2: I'm BEYOND ready...
-
Goodluck this week Teri! We'll all be thinking of you....
-
oh yeah, that's totally why i'm still home...i have technically 4 jobs (daycare, sephora, and I teach 2 colorguards) and I still don't have enough to be on my own...plus my parents love when I'm here. My brother still lives here too. he's26 now...we would both like to move out but financially it's just so tough! And there's no way we could move in together...not happening! lol I have a pug too! How funny..yes they snore but you get used to it when it's your own dog. It actually starts putting YOU to sleep! really...I also have a Bit Bull...she's the sweetest thing in the world! They get such a bad rap and it's completely unfair. Any dog you TRAIN to fight will fight, you know? She's such a baby! (at 11 years old) The only Sephora in the area is in Eastview Mall. Buffalo does have one but honestly, I've had so many people come in and say they've had a bad experience there with the people not knowing what they're talking about OR just not being nice. I've only been there once when they first opened so I can't say if its true or not..but we're awesome at Easteview! Teri, hope you get some rest tonight!

Grew up and still live in irondequoit...typical italian family...stay at home until you're married (well i don't know how much longer i'll actually be here...i love my family but i'd like a place of my own too).. I went to Eastridge... Congrats on the weightloss! I'm less of a sausage in my Sephora uniform now...lol it was much looser on me last night at work!!
-
Congrats on being in 14's! Oh i remember that feeling...i was in Fashion Bug (the only time i've lost weight on my own) and I just normally went to the Plus side...well everything i grabbed was TOO BIG! I remember i started crying in the dressing room..and then i walked to the "regular" side, grabbed a large and medium shirt...and I had to go with the medium! Oh what a day that was...and I am so excited to have that day again after surgery!!!! :cool2: Yes it is funny how small of a world it is...I work in Webster and I live 5 minutes away in Irondequoit  Small, small world

oh i know it's totally me...i've always been too self conscious to date. I've had a few "start of something's" here and there...but nothing serious. And it's always been me. I just always thought that no one would want to date the big girl so I just put it out of my head....and got tired of hearing "why dont' you have a boyfriend? You're so pretty"...blah blah blah....however i've just finally admitted that it's been all me...denial didn't do me any good... I"ve told most people that i'm having lap band. Some people i'd just rather not tell until after I have it. People that i'm not close with...I just think it's personal preference. I only think it becomes an issue if you lie about it...

HN...do you have Preferred Care?
-
Gilta, that's great! 4lbs a week is something i've always wanted to accomplish...nice to know that it's attainable (after surgery)... I LOVE The Biggest Loser! I applied 2 years ago but I really believe that you HAVE to go to a casting call...I dont' care who's video they show...that show is so motivational...every season I try to lose wtih them...i do..then it comes back..but not anymore! Did Dr D do your surgery? Or were you at Highland? I don't remember...and i'm too sick at the moment to scroll back through the pages...stomach bug sucks...

Well HELLO EVERYONE!@ I'm FINALLY back online...and i have an update.... I had some hiccups in my appointments...I was supposed to see Dr D for my second appointment on 8/28...they had to reschedule b/c they did not have my PCP's letter of support (TOTALLY my fault)...they squeezed me in on 9/10, but they had to reschedule that as well becasue i'm not down 20 yet (but soon!!!) and i didn't finish my 18 sessions of Beyond Diets...i only have 3 left!!!! As soon as I found out that I couldn't see him until i lost the full 20lbs i got my butt in gear. 2 wks ago I was down 7 pounds...last week i lost another pound...so now i'm down a total of 14! WOOHOO!! I can absolutely be down 6 pounds by my last Beyond Diets meeting..and then I can reschedule and she said that she would get me in ASAP when I call...i'm so excited!!!!!!!!!!! These next 3 weeks are my final step...EVERYTHING else is done so I should be sending in paperwork VERY soon and getting my surgery date! YAY!!! I'm so glad to be back online and hearing how everyone is doing....talk to everyone soon! Heather, i'm sorry to hear that there was some issues...i'm also going to expect that it will NEVER happen again! (to ANY of us) OUCH! Gilta, how are you feeling??
-
oh! Hi to all the newbies (well newbies since i've been away that is)!!!
-
LOL oh you so know about it now! I knew about that b/c when my mom had her surgery I said i'd do it with her (you know, eating...or rather drinking....everything the same)....and boy was that interesting. Thank god we have 2 bathrooms..... You've already had your surgery by now...can't wait to hear how it went for you! I've been MIA because I have no computer at the moment. It's frustrating to say the least, especially since I LIVE on my e-mail. So it will be occasional pop-ups on here until I get my own computer working again. Since my last time on here, I had my sleep study (oh the fun that was) and I have to go for bloodwork tomorrow morning. I only have a few things left: Sleep Study results: 8/25 Nutrition app.: 8/28 (8am) 2nd visit w/ DrD: 8/28 (9:30am) and IF i need a second night at the sleep study than that will be also on 8/28 in the evening. So really not much before I can turn in paperwork (oh yes I know i need my letter from my PCP, but she cant' write it until I get all the other stuff done).... I've been REALLY frustrated wtih my diet. I was losing pretty well...down almost 10 of the 20 he requires before he'll do the surgery...now I know he'll schedule it if you are close...but i gained it all back! I KNOW I CAN DO THIS! I'm just feeling let down wtih myself. I need to stay away from fast food. I need to stay away from bread. Let me rephrase...i WILL stay away from fast food and i WILL stay away from bread! Send me some goodluck vibes everyone...i need them! How is everyone else doing? H-how many fills have you had? Congrats on losing 3 on vacation! Nice....
-
you'll love the seminar AND Dr.D!!! Definately let us know what you think...if you have Preferred Care then look into some type of nutritional program in your area...you'll need it! If you don't have Preferred Care then I don't think you have to worry about it.... I personally have got to get my butt in gear....i got lazy and gained back the 8 i had lost...well i've been going up and down the same 4 pounds for about 3 weeks and i'm back up as of today....well i am cutting out bread, pasta, and potatoes and getting really strict. Not only to lose the weight but i just feel better when I'm not eating those things....
-
that's the other thing i wanted to mention....RGH has monthly group sessions to discuss everything. Support groups. It definately helps to talk with people who are either in the same place as you, or who have been there before, instead of just talkign to someone who has never had a weight problem and/or someone who has lost like 20 pounds in their entire life. To me, it almost doesn't count. There is also a program called Beyond Diets here. It was required for me to go (insurance company) but it has made such a difference. You discuss portions, exercise, etc, but in the weekly sessions you get to talk about your feelings and why you do the things you do...and believe me when other people actually understand you and can give you advice based on their experience, it helps....and it calls you out, meaning you become responsible for your food actions...it makes you realize why you do what you do, and once you know that, you can start to get control. I don't know how close you are to Rochester but if it's too far away just start asking in your area about nutrition programs that have group meetings. Ask your PCP as well... GOODLUCK with everythign! Keep us posted...and yes, every item that I can check off gets me one step closer to surgery! And changing my life forever....

Hey everyone! My Psych eval was EASY....i was so nervous and for no reason! IT was really quick! Kel...welcome! Congrats on making a decision to look into lap-band! I didn't want gastric bypass either, as I thought it was too severe and i didn't even look into lap band until about a year ago. I got serious about it in the past 8 months and decided it was absolutely for me. I highly recomment Dr Dibenedetto!!! You will LOVE him! He's great and he only wants to help! Some other surgeons in the area have very high opinions of themselves and my family has had bad experiences with it. My mom had bypass 3 years ago and OMalley was a jerk to her. She ended up going to RGH where Galvin (who left and dibenedetto took over) was amazing to her and she is doing well! Sorry for my post being all over the place. I have limited computer access at the moment and i'm on a timed computer (library) and I only have 7 minutes left...lol I'll be back online soon to either finish my ADD comments or to answer any other questions.... oh! I DO have to meet with the nutritionist and she was nice enough to get me in EARLY on the day of my follow up appointmetn with Dr D!!! (if she didnt' get me in I would have been screwed...i alraedy really like her and thanked her profucely!!!) ...and i know i totally just spelled that wrong! lol
-
where is your port? Someone my mom works with had lap band right around the same time as you did and her port is higher and to the right of her belly button...like 2 inches above and 2 inches over...
-
so how is everyone else doing? Anyone banded--> how has it been so far? Any bumps? Anything easier/harder than you thought? Those of us not banded YET--> how far along are you? What do you have left to do? My psych eval is this week (thursday)....july is my sleep study and results from that (and second night of sleep study), bloodwork whenever I get over to the lab, then i just need my letter sent to Dr D from my PCP and my second appointment is in august..i'm hoping to send in the paperwork then!
