How long before others noticed your weight loss?
MarcusJY replied to Polly Pocket's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
For me it was 100lbs but I was bigger. But I lost over 230 lbs twice once on Weight Watchers and once with RNY . Each time it was right when I hit the 100 lbs mark casual people noticed ...meaning people that didn't know what I was going through. -
Joining Weight Watchers after Gastric Sleeve surgery.
MarcusJY replied to calicakes's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Well I know this is an old thread....but I plan to use WW as maintenance for my weight loss. I am lifetime on Weight Watchers and I guess I have a rare story in that I have lost over 230 lbs twice in my life, once with WW (kept it off 5 plus years) and this time with RNY. I just couldn't refocus so I had the surgery. I believe in WW and I think it will be an excellent tool for me as I go into Maintenance phase now. -
Puree stage question
MarcusJY replied to Real California April's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
For me the Puree stage was the worst....I just pretty much stuck to the liquid diet/soups through that stage . -
I use an Apple watch and if you hold down the button on the watch it has a medical ID section (Same info on your phone) . Hopefully Apple has notified emergency/medical personnel and first responders how to access this information. Its really simple.

Bypass Vs. Sleeve?
MarcusJY replied to rebeccamason's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I had RNY NOV 23, 2016. I was going to have the Sleeve until one month before surgery. I just changed my mind after reading about people having sleeve to RNY revisions and gaining weight back with sleeve ( I know they gain with RNY but not quit as much). Other than the surgery itself life after is pretty much same, same diet, same recovery, pretty much same everything. So I was like if I'm going to have surgery, I'm only going to do it once and go with the gold standard. -
