    BMI 31-32

My weight was 195 lbs (I'm 5'5) when I took the surgery, my BMI was around 32. I noticed the last three years of my life I was gaining NOT loosing and i began to loose control around food When I started to think about having the surgery EVERYONE was telling me I wasn't that fat and I could loose it on my own, well, you didn't "see the struggle people" of loosing even a pound so why should I listen to you when my guts says go for it girl so I did. 6 weeks later and 20 lbs lighter i am thrilled to say that i am sooo happy with my decision with 0 regrets. My peogress is soooo slow but who cares, i am not in a race as long as I am loosing (not gaining) over time and it well worth every penny I paid off my pocket. Good luck to all of you out there who took or planning to take the sleeve surgery.
  3. Mine too, I am stuck at 175 for two weeks now Lost 20 lbs so far I need to loose another 40 Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

7 weeks post op plateau HELP!

Thats waaaay toooo low I started like that and hit the stall 2nd and 4th week with a total of only 16 lbs loss back then. I increased my calorie intake to 700-800 when I started to see some movements on my scale Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  9. Ask you doctor to cheque you thyroid functions.
  10. I dont want to scare you and with all my respect to your doctor but I think it is way too early to start the food you are eating now, you heart rate increases which is one of a red flag sign (that what I have been told) so why don't you go with liquids and Soups for at least three weeks until you stomach heals a little bit better! Stomachs are the same everywhere, i think it is not up to the surgeon to decide it is ready unless he did endoscopic study on you and cleared you out for that kind of food!!! Just be careful please!!
  11. I was reading and reading and decided to say something about it I think it depend on what you have in your head and which piece of information you are trying to hear and absorb from hear and there about this issue! It is a mindset and its up to you to go to that side and hear that crap about regaining after surgery or go to the other side and believe you will never gain with you permanent tool.... . I know many many people who took the surgery long time ago and10years later they are still skinny and healthy, when I asked them if they had fear about regaining they were surprised about my question looked at me like I am an idiot with a very stupid question and almost all believed it is impossible to gain weight "after surgery" and believed I am even more stupid asking if they followed any diet after surgery? almost all replied "if we would like to do that why would we have to take the surgery in the first place ???????" I think that if we (and all people who regained weight) read and read about regaining our mind will start to believe and do what it believed but if we stopped listening to that crap we will never have that issue EVER. Just threw my two cents here. Good luck all.
  12. Well, people I know don't even believe in diet and restrictions after surgery, they just believe that they have restriction inside them prevent them from over eating ANYTHING, they said that after 10 years of surgery they still can't eat normal size meal which prevent them from gaining the weight back!! We on the other hand open our eyes on posts how "pouch" stretches over time even thought sleevers don't have one and our minds absorb that and set it later as a fact and begin to act as it happened. IT IS ALL IN OUR MINDS. I start to believe that if any one took the surgery has been told that it was his final step and he will never be able to gain the weight back ... Period. , no one will every put a pound back!! A lot of surgeons I consulted with told me that I have to stop thinking about my weight all the time because this is what makes me fat from the first place. One of them said "thin" people don't think about gaining weight rather than thinking about their wellbeing, he said they start to get fat when they start to think about their weight and thats why diets never work!! Until now I couldn't do it but I am starting to think seriously about all of this because it starts to make sense to me and I will try to close this door FOREVER. 15. I'm in my 5th week now and I was cleared for eating normal again yaaaaaay )) Yesterday I was soooo hungry for meat so my husband Lebanese food (shishkabab, kebbeh and papagannoj) I ete around 2 oz of all at dinner time then two hours later I went back to the fridge and eat another 1 oz of meat!! Is that normal to get my appetite back (all of the sudden!!) or was it my head hunger which drove me to eat that much in one day??? My weight loss was way too slow and I was stalled for the last two weeks before I broke it this morning for another 2 lbs loss for a total of only 20 lbs in "5 weeks"!!! Pleaeeeese help.
  16. Mine was on the 27 in stall for the 2nd week Total loss 18 lbs since surgery :,(
  17. First week P O i couldnt put anything in my mouth except water, NOTHING ELSE AT ALL, my surgeon said it was ok as long as I have my water in, he was more worried about dehydration than get me protein in at that period of time. Good luck.

  21. I always hear this expression but not sure what are they talking about?? can someone explain -what is this "honeymoon period"?? -When?? -is it for sleevers or other bariatric surgery?? -and how to take "advantage" of that period?? (I always hear people "regret" not to take advantage of it!!)
  22. mia150

    Honeymoon period!

A friend of my friend was sleeved 3 years ago, she said the honeymoon period is your life after surgery, she said she didnt loose a lot the first year because she didn't want to loose her hair and have saggy skin so she took it slow, she said it has been three years and still loosing slowly and steadily, she said she didnt follow any diet because her surgeon said she shouldn't, he told he he dosent want her body to be stubborn???? so she said she eats almost everything she likes but in a very small quantities, she said the only rule she followed is not to eat and drink without as least an hour apart. Thats why I asked you guys because what I heard from her is deferent than what I am hearing from here and there ???? Even thought I am far from having my own experience about it but I have to agree with Jemie logical because I felt it makes sense to me. And, I agreed with that surgeon that we shouldn't follow a diet ever because that was the purpose of having the surgery from the first place, right!! I might be wrong but I think people who think the opposite way and stress themselves with diet and weight are the ones who put some weight back after all. Good Luck all ????
  23. Are you sure you are allowed to eat eggs at this period of time??? ????
