Exhausted : sleeved 5/17
Irelandlynne replied to Justaprettyface's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was sleeved on 5/4 and I have to agree it does get better each day. For the first week and a half I was exhausted and didn't feel like doing anything. After day 11 though things really turned around for the better. Hang in there and just make sure you are getting your vitamins, your water, and your protein in. -
Soft foods early?

Let me know how it turns out!! -
I am 7 days post op today and the gas has definitely been unbearable at times....but just like everyone will tell you walking is the best remedy. I have tried the gas strips but they didn't work for me, the heating pad definitely eased the pain, but walking was the only thing that helped me pass it. I am hoping to see the light at the end of the tunnel soon! Good luck!

Nothing to speed up weightloss like divorce
Irelandlynne replied to csawesome's topic in Rants & Raves
Wow! That is the only word that comes to mind after reading how insensitive and disgusting that is. I am so sorry you are going through this and I hope you have family and friends that will support you through this difficult time. Please update us with what is going on. I certainly will keep you in my thoughts. Xoxoxo -

Soft foods early?
Irelandlynne replied to ashleymuddah's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I was sleeved on 5/3, I have been sticking to the liquid diet and I haven't been able to make my protein or my water for that matter. I am never hungry and feel full very quickly. The NP called today to check in with me and she said I had the option of adding cottage cheese, yogurt, and egg whites in to my diet if I wanted. I was to nervous to try though :/ I totally understand being over the shakes though lol! I hope things get better for you. -
Congrats and Good Luck!!

I just had my surgery on 5/4. The things I used in the hospital were my chapstick, my cellphone, cellphone charger, license and insurance card, hair brush and elastic, and a pillow to lay across my abdomen. I wore yoga pants and a loose t-shirt and that was also what I went home in. I was provided with non slip socks, toothpaste and toothbrush, things to shower(i did not shower at the hospital). After my surgery which was at 10:30am, I did not wake up fully until 7pm and that was when I was transferred to my room. I walked around that night but I was in and out of sleep most of the time. The next day I walked around a lot and was ready to be discharged in the afternoon. I didn't even have time to watch t.v. good luck with your surgery!

People who want privacy - what is or was your cover story?
Irelandlynne replied to Maggie Journey's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I went back and forth with what I was going to tell people but finally decided I was just going to tell the truth. I felt I had nothing to be ashamed of and was having the surgery to better my health. I was definitely nervous telling people but felt that generally they were very supportive of me, which is great. In the end I feel like you should do and say what makes you feel comfortable. I just knew for me it was going to be less stressful to tell the truth than have to keep lying or omitting things to everyone. Good luck with your journey! -

Leading up to my death?
Irelandlynne replied to 1cutiejulie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I just had my pre-op today as my surgery is scheduled on May 4th. The hospital where I am having my surgery gave me a sheet of paper with the statistics for death due to WLS and it is a very low percentage. There is always risk with any type of surgery but for me remaining morbidly obese seemed like the greater risk and also a death sentence. I think it's normal to be anxious and nervous but being in this group has helped me alleviate some of the negative feelings I was having about wls. I wish you the best of luck with your surgery and make sure you post with how you did. -

How long does it usually take from first consultation to surgery date?
Irelandlynne replied to mmcharm's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I went through insurance. I had my consultation on January 18th and my surgery is scheduled for May 4th. The thing that took the longest to schedule and get the results back from was the sleep study. The time flew by fast and I still can't believe that in two weeks I will be getting sleeved. Good luck with your journey! -
Im May 6th so we are very close to each other!! Good luck!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App Let me know how you do!! ????

May 4th....????????????

My psych eval pretty much consisted of talking about my life, better ways to handle stress and emotional eating after surgery, and making sure I have support. I was so nervous about this appointment but it turned out to be really easy and it was nice to talk to someone about the process and what to do after to maximize the benefits of surgery.

I am also scheduled May 4th! 17 days left! I look forward to hearing how you all do after the surgery.

Any April/May 2016 sleevers?
Irelandlynne replied to shellba's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm scheduled to be sleeved on May 4th. Only 17 days left. I'm excited but also really nervous. I only have to do a 3 day liquid diet prior to my surgery, so I feel pretty lucky. I love reading about all of your journeys it makes me feel less alone in my own journey.
