    Pre-Op Diet Problems

My 2 cents worth: if you are prepping for the after diet phase, I would really push for 2 entire Protein shakes. If that continues to be a problem, add extra Protein powder to your shakes or broth. Are you taking a complete multi Vitamin to help keep Healthy and make up for what you are not eating? I believe you should need to get at least 60 grams of protein to have enough "fuel" for your body. You don't want to trigger low vitamin/ mineral levels that can impair your healing. Make sure you are drinking the recommended amount of liquids a day. I would hate to you work this hard and get sick or depleted before the surgery. And obviously always check with your surgeon or Nut for your concerns . Sent from my SM-G935V using the BariatricPal App

  5. Miralax and the generic brands are amazing . It draws Water into and helps you have a meaningful, less painful bowel movement. I'm PreOp but I don't go regularly for many years. Miralax really helps me and my son. My GI doctor recommended it when I started having issues after my gallbladder removal. It's non addictive. Meaning your body does not become reliant on it to move your bowels. When I'm stopped up, I put the scoop in hot tea every day for 7-10 days and I can regulate for a bit. When I feel it slowing again I use it for a day or so. That's what has worked for me. Sent from my SM-G935V using the BariatricPal App

  9. Congrats! I hope I can tolerate as well as you in September. I'm not sure if my PreOp is strictly liquids or I can have a meal a day and primarily shakes/liquids. I have conflicting info so I'm not going to worry about which until it's time. Fretting will get me nowhere Sent from my SM-G935V using the BariatricPal App

  11. I've worked insurance for a good amount of years. Most insurance companies will accept the visits prior to being active for documentation of the X amount of weight check ins. If the surgeon you are with now is non participating, there are ways to stay with them for treatment. I would call your new health insurance customer service and ask The full benefits for the wls the WLS medical policy ( it can be online ) Participation of primary care Dr, surgeon, nut, psych Participation of hospital And any other thing you can think on If you don't understand or the rep seems unsure ask for a supervisor and or a case manager. The latter may take a,day or two to be assigned Don't be afraid to call daily until you get your questions answered If you are running into resistance, talk to your surgeons coordinator, they can inquire on their end about the benefits medical policy Obviously everything I'm writing may or may not be true to your situation. Just don't give up. Get your answers. Good luck. Sent from my SM-G935V using the BariatricPal App

    Second thoughts?

Even if you are not sure go to it anyways. A seminar isn't a commitment. You can go through the whole program and not do it. If you have a weight issue, it's not bad to weigh all options. Surgery is a huge deal. You can waiver on if or when or why but go get your information. Explore your options. Maybe going will set in your mind how your journey will go no matter what you choose! Good Luck Sent from my SM-G935V using the BariatricPal App
  14. For COBRA, typically but not always is just a different subgroup of the company 's plans. Most of the time it can be the same coverage as the active employees which generally follows the same medical policies, benefit structure . It hopefully should be just a group or id number change. If you can look at the COBRA benefit grid and see if wls is a covered benefit. Sent from my SM-G935V using the BariatricPal App
  15. Hang in there. Unfortunately a lot of hospitals are electronically linked to insurance plans. However sometimes it slips past. Good luck Sent from my SM-G935V using the BariatricPal App
  16. I just had my 4th of 6 visits. My Surgeon told me not to gain, stay the same or loose. Personally I cut out most sweets, sodas and processed foods. Am I perfect? Nope but I don't beat myself up too badly. I found a couple Protein shakes that I can use. I started taking Vitamin supplements to get into practice on taking them and be healthier. I move more . I challenge myself once a week or so on drinking only the shakes Water teas and broth. I've lost 18 lbs this year. That's my story and attempts to make it through the 6 months. I hope it helps. Good luck! Hang in there! Sent from my SM-G935V using the BariatricPal App
