Endoscopy for clearance
busybeebug replied to ML573663's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My Surgeon did my endo. He likes to see what's going on inside before he does the surgery. But every doctor is different. If they say the one you had done is good, then trust your doctor. I'm sure that your isn't the first surgery hes, done ????. He has his program and you will be fine. If you are really that concerned talk to your team. The costco here was selling strawberry vanilla and chocolate. I haven't been there in a few Week sometime to see if the they have the different flavors I bought the banana at Walmart 4 for about $8. They had Carmel too. I will try that next time. I haven't tried the Syntrax yet, where have you bought that? GNC? Online? @@trekker954 Sent from my SM-G935V using the BariatricPal App -
Prednisone and weight gain Pre Op
busybeebug posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Augh... I was on vacation and I came in contact with something I was allergic to. My legs swelled and I had a very nasty angry looking rash. The local er gave me prednisone. Normally I would not take it because I get really bad mood and eating issues even taking small doses. However the swelling pain and itch was intolerable. So my weight is up which is frustrating because in 3 weeks I have my final weight in. I was told from month to month i had to maintain or lose. I'm down 15 total but so far have 3 pound weight gain since starting this medicine. I'm retaining Water and other parts of my body are swollen. I'm drinking a lot of water but the return is not where I think it should be.Any tips on getting this weight back down? I have 6 more days of the prednisone to go. (I have dropped an email to my doctors on this but I would like to hear if any one has had a similar experience) Sent from my SM-G935V using the BariatricPal App -

Major depression and getting approved
busybeebug replied to Frenchie1977's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
As long as you are actively being treated and you are in a good routine, you should be good. They are assessing if you comprehend the risks, changes and can be compliant with the life long routines. If you are out of control and meds aren't helping, then you might not get approval if you are using your treating doctor. Sent from my SM-G935V using the BariatricPal App -

Pre-op liquid diet and diabetes
busybeebug replied to busybeebug's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yeah I was going to ask that when I have my PreOp appointment in September. I wanted to see how people have handled it. I've cut a ton of sugar and other "bad" stuff out of my diet but I've noticed more hypoglycemia episodes. Worst happen this past weekend while trying to grocery shop. Luckily I was by the registers so once I steadied myself, I grabbed a iced tea and candy bar. Sent from my SM-G935V using the BariatricPal App -
Waiting on my referral
busybeebug replied to sarcruze's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have a BCBS plan and I didn't need a referral to go for consultation or info session this Friday will be #5 of 6 visits with my pcp so I am in the home stretch of the 6 months of PreOp supervision. It goes faster than you think! Hang in there! Sent from my SM-G935V using the BariatricPal App -
Yes. I sprinkle it in my recipes. It doesn't change taste. Put it oatmeal, spaghetti, salads yogurt. I even put it in my dogs food. The allergy itch they get decreases when I do it. Sent from my SM-G935V using the BariatricPal App

Ok. I get headaches from most "sweeteners". I also don't like the synthetic chemicals used in them. What kind of sweeteners do you use? Does the chemical make up freak you out? Or do I need to stop obsessing over it and bite the bullet? I don't use a ton of real sugar. Less than 1/2 tsp for a 12 Oz of hot tea. Sometimes I use honey. Any helpful thoughts or comments on how or what to do about my sugar use? I guess I know that I have to just stop and/or talk to my Nut about this. But I want to know what you've done. You thoughts on sweeteners. Thank you in advance. Sent from my SM-G935V using the BariatricPal App

Pre-Op Diet Problems
busybeebug replied to vleesleeved's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
We are all on these together! Do you have an unflavored protein that you tolerate or like now? If so what is it? I'm starting to look for one. I am kinda anxious for the PreOp liquid phase. I'll be out of town working for most of it. I told my colleagues that if I get too drained during the trips, I might be out of commission and do the behind the scenes stuff from my hotel. I have a pretty competent team so they should be good. Sent from my SM-G935V using the BariatricPal App I've been sticking to my doctor's specific protein powder (NY Bariatric Group Protein), as well as Ensure pre-made protein drinks. I haven't really been able to handle broth at all, even the low-sodium broth is too much for me! I am also away for work right now (right in the middle of my pre-op diet)! It's actually much better I think. I made sure to prep and buy plenty of the pre-made protein drinks so I could grab them and go. I also brought packets of crystal light to add to my waters for some flavor. Being away is actually helping me keep very busy. I was worried because my job is active - I'm a youth sports director and coach. Exercising (I am constantly on my feet coaching and demonstrating) has helped curb any hunger I think. When is your surgery date? My date ,Lord be willing and the Insurance not being flaky, is September 19. Sent from my SM-G935V using the BariatricPal App -
