Help banded 1/08 and still only 10# down!
plain replied to jmonash's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Maybe you are overfilled? You should not be throwing up that often, if you are eating the right type and amounts of food. This sounds like a problem that only you and a doc are going to be able to fix. -
Hells Yeah!! Good job! Keep it up!

Surgery date: October 16, 2008!
plain replied to deb's journey's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Very cool, Deb. Welcome to the boards, and good luck on your journey. -
Aimeemo, don't take this the wrong way....but have you done your homework regarding the lapband? I mean, it's practically Friday right now, and you're asking for input. Realistically, what would it take for you to cancel your Monday surgery? Ultimately, I only ask these semi-rhetorical questions because having a lap-band means making some pretty big changes in how and what you eat. If you aren't totally 100% committed to making those changes, then getting the band will only be a waste of time and money. However, if you know what's going to be required of you and are committed to working with the band, it's great. Personally, I love my band. It's the most powerful weight loss tool that I've ever had access to. It's working for me.....but it's not effortless. I cannot recommend the band to just anybody. There are people on this website that struggle with their band. Mostly I hear "My doc didn't tell me this" or "I never thought that" or "It never even occured to me to ask". That is not a very good start on a weightloss journey. Knowledge is power.

A good start would be for you to call up the insurance company and basically start a dialog with them. Ask if they cover weight-loss surgery (WLS). If yes, which surgeries are covered? What are the requirements, etc. But I would start everything off by talking to the insurance....because what they say might affect how you go about your plans.

She!! Your first multiquote post! I'm so proud....
-
She, you are truly an enlightened woman. Breasticles make the world go 'round (ok, I know it's really gravitational pull).

The guy that writes for Tyler Durden is the BEST, is he not?

Ok first, don't dis the Clay-man. Because I heard he is all-knowing and very vindictive. Haha....just kidding around, Clay......We don't want any trouble! Next, an automatic handgun just means that after you fire a shot, the gun chambers another bullet automatically. It's still one pull of the trigger, one bullet fired.....not fully automatic, like an assault weapon. Automatic doesn't automatically denote a military grade weapon (see what I did there? A little education, a liitle wordplay.....man, why aren't I passing my wisdom on to the youth of America?).

I blame Rick Perry. Personally, (and I'm totally serious about this) I voted for Kinky last time.

Actually in process right now, Qualified the shooting, done with the course, waiting on the state to clear me... I went the automatic route (as you probably know, if you qualify with auto, you also have the option to carry a revolver). I have a 9mm. Did that answer your question, or do you want tech specs on the gun?

Ok, I'm down 4 lbs this week. Last Thursday - 307; This Thursday - 303. I feel a bit of total disclosure is in order. My method for weighing myself is to deal in integers (whole numbers) only. In my system, using my above numbers as an example, it probably went down like this (I don't remember the exact weight last Thurs): Last week - wt 307.1 Today - wt 303.8 So, in reality...it's really closer to a loss of 2 lbs. But it's my system dammit.....and I'll disregard the decimals if I want, lol!! On the flip side, going from 303.8 to 303.0 equals zero weight loss.

My knee-jerk reaction.....All voters registered by ACORN should not be allowed to vote unless personally vetted by a member of the local election board. At least somebody would be held accountable for the rampant voter fraud.

Oh that is just so.....wrong. You think Clay Aiken is a cutie?!? I just admire his singing. And wait....are you saying he's gay? What? I carry a huge handgun and drive a porche.....Do you think I could be compensating for something??

Ah.....that's why I like She Smiles so much....it's because of me Aussie Grandmum!! We'll always have Oz betwixt us, She!!

Scuttlebutt is that Hef is still legally married to Kim Conrad. And gossip is that Holly is still legally married to some dude as well. I read a hilarious celebrity-news blog that has covered this pretty extensively.

Pain in an incision......????
plain replied to BroncosGalAndrea's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sometimes incisions hurt a little or itch as part of the normal healing process. As long as the area isn't inflammed or hot, or you don't have any kind of discharge, I wouldn't think you have to worry about incisional infection. If it doesn't resolve pretty soon, see your doc, though. -
As much as it pains me to say this, you could kick my ass on a 60 mile walk. Good job!

1) Thanks, I try to lighten the mood without getting too overly serious...we all have enough stress, right? 2) I plan on bringing my creepy avi back when I modify it real good. 3) I have enormous genitals. That doesn't explain the mod thing, I just like to try and spread that rumor every chance I get.

She, please refrain from posting private details of our friendship online. And, BTW, I don't consider weeping for hours because Clay Aiken came in 2nd place on American Idol creating drama, ok?
-
That's what you get for drinking and smoking! *puritanical* Thanks slim....I can see you are a woman with impeccable taste. I'm actually devestatingly handsome and charming in real life. The camera mutes that, somewhat. Yeah, it's all the camera....that's it.... Moi? I'm mas macho!! Ebony, you clearly have a real eye for masculine attractiveness. As your husband will attest, I'm sure. Bedwetting is extremely common until puberty. It happens in the same phase of sleep that sleepwalking and night terrors happen in (Stage N3....I know you're a google nerd). There are a percentage of people that experience these things into the teen years, and then into adulthood, so you're not exactly out of the woods, but statistically speaking, it's unlikely. And please refrain from telling us about your husband's sick fetishes, plz. Hmmmm, I actually didn't know my security was set up that way. I will rectify. What's so creepy about peering through your window with binoculars, and painstakingly recording your keystrokes until I could spell out your last name....all just to send a friend request for MySpace? Creepy, Leslie? I prefer dedicated...

I caved in to peer pressure!! Oh, the shame...

Just curious....why did you pick Felix as your Avatar?
