I hate it when people post just to post.....

Is that what my wife has been bugging me to get her for Christmas?? Something about "vibrating" and something about how I'm "a failure in the bedroom", or something like that. I wasn't listening.

Nobody's more modest than me!! And nobody's more humble, either!!

WHY are people voting for McCain?

Steve, I perceive you as being very moderate. And nobody appreciates that more than me. But I disagree with you on this one. I don't think the constitution spells out muskets explicitly.....and by that line of reasoning, one could say that everybody is entitled to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, as long as those things don't require electricity, or medicine or the steam engine. That's too bad. My wife painted me with a "shame brush" awhile back. It tickled.

She's talking about me and my liberal good looks....Duh.

    Notice to all employees (post-election)

I don't know what it means either, but I'll be using this term daily since I heard it. Example "Excuse me grocer....I see the bananas and the apples, but where do you keep the crotch fruit?" Yeah, I'm pretty stupid.

Sorry Susan, I'll try and tone down the incessant limericks that I've been PM'ing you... Hey, he could work in a......SLEEP LAB!! I just call 'em like I sees 'em.... We all do! Heyheyhey....I won't let anybody talk about SickNTired like that. Except me
  7. Well, that's a bit fallacious, Green. Big business doesn't care WHO buys their product, as long as it's being bought. If the price of doing business is too high in America, companies will relocate to, say for the sake of arguement, Mexico, or India (where they will increase the profit margin tenfold....because of the downgraded workers' wages). Most really big businesses market globally anyway. A good example of this is big tobacco.

    Hello!

Hi Emily. You picked a great place here. There is a TON of information to read through and a lot of great people to meet. So come on in, pull up a chair and get busy, lol.

    Hello!

Hi Bigmama. I have a pretty easy job, with moderate moving and position changes, but minimal heavy lifting. I had my surgery done on a Friday and was back to work that next Tuesday. It was pretty easy...

    Newly Banded

Hey Tobler. Of course it gets easier. 2-3 days after the surgery was the worst for me....then it started getting much easier.

Duh. It's one of our first rules as a bandster. You have to eschew everything very well.

WHY are people voting for McCain?

Perhaps they would have. And no, it doesn't really matter. I was just musing.....Joy seems much more vitriolic than Elizabeth (or Barbara or Whoopi, for that matter).
  15. Very well stated, HAPPY. That's how I feel. Me too. You should be proud. We have the greatest country in the world. Even during the past 8 years. Proven where? The Huffington Post? The Dailey Kos? If we went into Iraq for oil, how come we've never gotten any from them? Bush was hammered daily for not taking oil or oil money. Iraq used that money to rebuild infrastructure (and also to pay off the various tribal militia leaders into supporting the central government.....yesh what a clusterf*ck THAT turned into....but I digress). We went into Iraq because we have close allies (Israel, Saudia Arabia, etc.) and interests (oil, an anti-nuclear Iran) in that area. Conveniently, the leader of Iraq was a genocidal maniac... Wow, that was an abrupt turnaround, April. And big of you to apologize as well. Well said. Exactly. I don't always approve of what the American government does, but I am always proud to be American. That's why it floors me when somebody implies that they might not have always been proud to be an American.

    Hello from Missouri

    Welcome, Kelbell!
  17. In touch with the real world is subjective. What "real world" is to some is not "real world" to others. That's part of why I am such a strong proponent of state's rights (and less government in general.....and to a much, much lesser degree why I tend to agree more with the republican philosophy). And BJean, I certainly can understand people's pain. Pain I get. What I don't understand is the irrationality of people.
  18. Uh, I didn't suggest that people voted for Obama because he's black.....I was taken aback that you were ashamed, or apathetic, to be an American for awhile. I didn't vote for Obama....it was political, not personal, or racial. But I'm not angry or bitter that he won. Heck, if he betters America we all benefit. Best of luck to him. What strikes me is how personal this race was for many Americans. Lots of turnout on both sides. That's how it is supposed to be. That alone makes me more proud than whoever the victor would be.

    risky......anyone ever have a threesome?

Masturbation is an attack? Only if you're doing it correctly..... Kidding, Denise.
  20. I agree that America has recently had some tough times....but y'all mean to say that there was nothing in the last 8 years to make you proud to be an American?
  21. plain

WHY are people voting for McCain?

I wonder, if McCain had won, if Joy, Barbara, and Whoopi would have been as gracious??

Brand new here and really angered by...

That's too funny. When you posted that Prop 8 was started by a bunch of Mormons (a few posts back), I assumed you meant to type "morons", and was just gonna let it slide....but nope, apparently it was indeed Mormons, eh?? That made me lol. Well, kinda yes and kinda no. "Basic human rights" is vague. What about the polygamists? Do they have a basic human right to marry 20 different people? What about the dude in the news awhile back that wanted to marry his horse (I know this comparison is somewhat offensive....but there will always be loons trying to push the envelope, legally)? There has to be a cutoff point somewhere, and no matter where it is, somebody will be crying about how intolerant the state is and how they're being denied basic human rights. I think a civil union would kinda be "more official" than traditional marriages, many of which are religious ceremonies.
