insisting on more frequent fills
plain replied to petlover's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi petlover. This is probably not what you want to hear, but the first few months after the band is the time to try and "cement" your habits in. If you're binging now, you risk the possibility of damage. I know it's difficult, but try to practice on your good habits: small portions, small bites, chew throughly, eat slowly, no liquids with meals, and make good food choices (Protein first, then veg, then misc.). You can do it petlover. It gets easier with the fills, but you still have to do your part. Good luck! -
two months with the lapband
plain replied to inlove10_20tlrp's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Good luck, inlove. The head hunger is the toughest part. Just keep on resisting as hard as you can. 33 lbs is a great start!! You can do this! -
Because it the first annual nude raw oyster eating marathon? Sheesh, if you want me to quit sending you pics, change your email, like all the other ladies do....

Love the new Mac avi! caused I used "yanno" No pun intended, right! Hehehe Leslie, I haven't heard from you for weeks! Do I need to cut back on the stalking / heavy breathing phone calls?? Your band has a funny little mustache and one testicle ?!?

The old Beth is dead! Long live the new Beth!

Hey slim....whatchoo doing up this time o' the night??

Well, if the GasX helps you, then great!! But for most of us, the gas that they used to inflate your belly was outside of your stomach, so you can't fart or belch it out (sorry if the language offends ya). That kind of gas has to be re-absorbed in your bloodstream......walking around helps a great deal. Good luck to you and welcome to the site!

Hey Kris, Welcome. Everything you've described sounds pretty normal to me. If you reach the point where it's difficult to swallow liquids, you're too tight. You may be too tight now, if you "get sick on a lot of foods". You are doing an awesome job, and you look great! Good luck on your band journey.

I'm new to LapBand Talk.com
plain replied to ladyshy78's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hey Shy. I've been struggling with a plateau lately myself. Recently, I started adding in walking to my workout routine, and I think the scales are starting to move again. Do you exercise? IMO, exercise is sometimes under-rated by those that have a band. -
There are no nurses that can diagnose a stranger over the internet. The best advice remains what you said : If one has any concerns, see a doc. If one even THINKS the concern is serious, go to the ER.

Click on the forum "General Lapband discussion". Then it's like the 2nd thread from the top...."Before and after pics", or something catchy like that. Just explore around and have fun! There's lots of good stuff to look for and people to meet here!

I'm talkin' to YEW!!! How dare you point out and mock my atrocious spelling! How dare you....This slight will not go unavenged!!!

Oh My. That's pretty weird. My doc sometimes posts in the Texarkana area forum on here. Yanno (plagurized....er....borrowed from SNT), people aren't always the nicest to him.

Well, I rarely send money to televangelists....but I loathe gin. You are correct! Some testicular fortitude should do the trick!
-
Hmmmmm....You do raise an interesting point....
-
Hey, mgirl....my doc told me to get used to liquid meds & vitamins. He doesn't approve of pills + a band....not unless there is absolutely no way to avoid it.

Great news Karen! Good luck to you!

Is your belly telling you you're still hungry, or is your head telling you you're still hungry? See, most of us have gotten the feeling of "full" confused with the feeling of "stuffed". It took me awhile to re-learn what "full" really felt like..... Anywho, what you're describing sounds like what I feel when I've eaten too much or eaten too fast. Hope any of this helps! Good luck!

I just mapquested "Ferris", and it looks a little out of the way for me, lol........but I'll keep it in mind. One never knows where one may end up on a carefree weekend, no? And I do have a fondness for keeping little bits of trivia like that in my brain. Thanks for the tip. Hey.....You're not setting me up just because I'm conservative, right? No biker beatdown? No spiked burrito? I'm gonna trust ya just this one time, lulu...:rolleyes2:

Bill, put me down in the "no catheter" column. Also, I was up walking about 30 minutes after I "remember" waking up in recovery. I was a little sore for about 3 days, back to work on the 4th with no problems (my job is 80% desk job).

Awesome, goat! I'm still holding @302. I think the scales are starting to swing, though.....adding in some walking on the treadmill, of all things seems to be very effective for me.

I got my first taste of salsa & eggs while I was attending school in San Marcos, Tx. First time I had ever had a breakfast burrito. Delicious. IMO, nobody has better Mexican food than the Austin, Tx area (not even San Antonio....not even the valley).
