Ate a burger two days after surgery
plain replied to tripi's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ok, let me put my "mod hat" on for a sec (it's actually a beenie with a propeller, but I digress...). This is what I see at play here: This thread is quickly turning into a "us vs. them" scenario (or possibly a "we vs. they", if you prefer). It's actually kinda common whenever anybody posts one of these "I did this, will I be OK" posts. Inevitably, people are polarized between giving a pep talk to the OP and giving a dose of tough love. Whichever camp you fall into is ok.....we are all entitled to our opinions. However, let's not get petty. It's really easy to do....When somebody posts that they did something potentially dangerous or something that reeks of an addiction, all the rest of us addicts react.....but in the end we are all here for information and support, so let's try to keep it nice. Is this a "for real" post? I tend to think not, but I could be wrong. If I am wrong, then the OP clearly needs some help. Lobbing bombs back and forth at each other doesn't accomplish much, except for making your poor underpaid (and by underpaid, I mean "do it for free") mods work that much harder. So in the intrest of keeping the peace I will personally send all of you autographed 8X11 glossy B&W headshots of yours truly. No really.......Hey where's everybody going? Hello?? -
Ditto !!!!

Naw......Maybe I'll call you......"friend"...... *cue happy music

Man, your memory is shot.....what, are you pregnant or something??

I think the closest thing that the gastric band has to a deep dark secret is this: It's only a tool that helps one feel more full with less food. Now, you might be thinking <shocking>, but let me explain. Every day I see semi fresh bandsters lamenting about how they are disappointed in the band (they still feel hungry, they are still able to eat large portions, they cant....won't....blah blah blah). Her's what the band will not do: It will not magically remove your desire to eat. If you are a compulsive overeater that tends to eat even when you are not physically hungry.....the band doesn't do so much for "head" hunger. It will not make good food choices for you. You have to eat healthier food. A lot of newbies don't want to hear this......a lot of them want to hear that they can still eat the same mega bad junk and lose weight. It will not change you by itself. You have to put in much blood, sweat and tears to have success. I'm not trying to be negative. I love, love, love my band. I just wish more people thought more carefully before they made up their mind to have one. You are to be commended for asking questions, monica.....if more people did, the success rates for the band would be even higher. Gross stuff - the worst that it gets is what we bandsters call a "PB" (for productive burp). It is kinda like vomiting, but.....not exactly. A PB can happen if a bandster eats too quickly, or doesn't chew well, or eats too much, or eats a food that their individual band doesn't agree with (things that are difficult to get through the band vary greatly from person to person). Sorry about typing the novel-length response to your question....guess I'm a little bored, LOL. Good luck with your research and on your weight loss Quest, Monica!

Anne Hathaway has gotten too thin, IMO. It detracts from her femininity.

Oh hells yeah!! w00t!!

Hahahaha.....the word "flaccid" makes me laugh and laugh....that's why I try and use it often. Man, it sucks to try and download porn with a faulty sound/video card (and I know good and well that's what you've been doing.....all of us know that pregnant women love porn, right?) I thought you were a vegetarian?

Good Luck!!

Yeah post some pics, monkey!! So, do you just love living in S.A? I went to college in San Marcos back when it was called Southwest Texas State University.....I love the Texas hill country.

Maybe this is taboo to say..... Barbaric
plain replied to LundyLane's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Barbaric is extremely subjective, no? If you really look at it, circumcision could be considered pretty dang barbaric! -
Do you mean to say that my state of constant flaccidness is offensive? I haven't even posted the pics yet....

I forgot who posted (and I waaaaaaay too lazy to go back and look) that the OP probably needs some sort of therapy, but I think that is the most on the mark advice given. Have we all cheated (or will cheat) at some point while on part of the restricted diet? Yes. But.......there's cheating and there's cheating. Snacking on something a little early is certainly not the best idea. But having a full-blown hamburger on day 2 speaks of a real, pathological self destructive streak. I'm not trying to be overly critical of the OP. But a gaffe of this magnitude needs more than the "sunshine and rainbows" answer of "Everybody messes up. Just do better next time". A gaffe of this magnitude needs, I think, professional help. -
Hey Policeman. I'm very ignorant of all things insurance, so forgive the stupid question, but.....you do have insurance, yes? If the hospital won't help you, maybe the bariatric surgeon's office will? I really have a tough time seeing that your bill would be between 20 - 30 K with insurance paying some of that. Dude, check out another hospital.....or Mexico, for that matter. Or just let it go, if that's what you want to do.

Kind of like the time somebody sold me some "anti-impotence" pills. Turned out that they were just Tylenol. Last time I go to see a doctor whose office is in the storeroom of a "7-11".

The smoking gun website exposed that guy in a hysterically funny article.

A Z-pack is an antibiotic. Moderately strong. Generic name is "Azithromycin". The term "z-pack" refers to a 5 day course. I will tell you this......I have never had anything that a zpack didn't knock right out. The downside: If you don't have something "bacterial" going on (like a bug of some sort) you run the risk of the germs becoming "resistant" to the azithromycin (but the same can be said with all antibiotics).

Kat, Plz don't speak of my wife on here. Thanks. Richard cries too much to ever engage in such carnal activities....

Nice. MRSA I can deal with......now you can keep the VRSA to yaself!
-
Bwa-ha-haha.....my plan is working! Nope, you can call me whatever you want to......and it'll probably still be nicer than what most on here call me!

Hahahahaha....I haven't really watched The Real World since that sex crazed bunch in Vegas......Probably just dated myself pretty bad right there.

Uh, there seems to be a misunderstanding. Dr. Hekier is the doc that did my surgery. I don't mind if you want to call me that, but the real Hekier might not be so flattered, LOL.

Monkey, quit following me around, LOL!! J/K
