    Octuplets and SIX other children??!!!

I heard on the news that the mother is shopping out interviews w/ pcs of the octuplets......for $2 million. I'll bet y'all a donut hole she's looking to get a TV deal a la' "Jon and Kate"......

Too late! I'm easily....uh....confused.....what was I saying again?
  4. Because I do. I like the debate, and even if I don't agree with your positions, you at least give logical response, instead of "building a straw man" (ie, calling me small-minded, or a religious fanatic, or whatever else I've seen in this thread). I love to play Devil's advocate. In my experience, it makes both parties think about their positions more. And thinking is never a bad thing. But that wouldn't be saving taxpayers any money. Instead, there'd have to be more government agencies to keep track of this, to make sure all prostitutes were compliant with the new standards, etc. I don't think the prostitutes would be so keen to pay for liscenses, health care exams, or even declare income on taxes

Hey, could you watch the language, plz? This is a family-friendly thread.
  6. Really difficult to answer, M.....because everybody is different. I know (personally know) several people that felt some restriction from day 1, and have not gotten any fills and are losing. I think they're the exception, but still... My doc told me that it seems to take 3-4 fills for his patients to feel good restriction (but he is very conservative on fills). I've had 4 fills and am almost 1 year out. So, when you say you're going back to your old ways pre-band what do you mean? Are you making bad food choices? Eating portions that are too large? Do you go to a support group? They help. Do you exercise? Exercise is really the not-so-secret ingredient for weightloss with the band. It is vital. So take a deep breath and re-group. You can totally do this. All is not lost. Start back on the right track now.
  7. Huh? Weas, how can you tell? It's not that we hate the bypass (or at least I don't.....If bypass is a better fit for somebody, cool. That's a very personal choice), but in this instance, I think before recommending another major surgery, I recommend that Tigger work her existing tool some more. Tigger, it sounds to me like you might be too tight. One of the most common mistakes that I see is that folks get too tight.....and then have to eat less filling foods just to get things down. Most of your sample menu is composed of very soft foods, and like RestlessMonkey said, the band works best if you're eating regular foods. Also, Brad's words are gold! Exercise is the catalyst that really gets the weightloss started with the band. I realize that having 2 fulltime jobs makes it very difficult to exercise, but remember......even walking helps. Get creative. Tigger, you can do this.

    Denied by BCBS IL

Good luck, Dan. From what I've read, it's not uncommon for insurances to first deny, and then approve on appeal. Hang in there.

Old Band out -- New Realize Band In

Uh......SurgMd....are you implying you are a surgeon? No reason, except that you seem to be a little foggy on the HIPPA concept.....susan1961 is way more on the money here. Loss of personal privacy, maybe. HIPAA violation, no.
  10. But how exactly would that help? Arrest the illegal (underage) prostitutes? Then they'd be in the same boat they're in now.

Same here....also, my organization offers the ability to self-pay to continue to have insurance coverage (up to 3 months, I think?). We call this COBRA, although I'm not sure if this is a state reg or if it's nationwide....

    Mean people

I realize that this in itself is a generalization, but I have found that the more staunchly liberal somebody is, the more that they think they are "better" than the general public.

    Octuplets and SIX other children??!!!

But still......she already had 6......That's plenty. Would the ACLU and my beloved libertarians be all over my ass for that statement? Yes. Do I still stand by it? Yes. First prove that you can support 6 without any government assistance.

Is the person that has been diagnosed currently being treated? If yes, then that person should probably ride the therapy until they start feeling symptomatic again. If no, another sleep study should be done ASAP. Sorry for the generalized answer, but you caught me on my last night of work. I probably won't have time to sign back on until Monday evening.....and by then there'll be 10 pages of posts to go through.

    Late Bloomer

Do you think you are maybe a little too tight, Bloomer? It is pretty common for people that are too tight to eat food that slides down easier.....and typically those "slider foods" are not the best food choices.

    anal sex

I read that. It was a study linking increased masturbation by men to increased risk of prostate cancer. Interestingly enough, this contradicts another recent study that claimed frequent masturbation decreased prostate ca risk. Bottom line.....researchers often don't know what in the hell they're talking about.
