Will there be a pillow fight later in the evening?
-
Nope, that was straight from the heart!
-
Please, let's not ruin the calm asylum that is PJTP by bringing up somebody that doesn't even post here. It's kinda like how nobody says "Voldemort" in the Harry Potter series. The fear is that saying the name might attract the attention of the individual.....

excuse us gentlemen, a poll from the ladies
plain replied to want_so_bad's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Believe it or not, that was the original intent of the poll. In the ladies room, I (kinda jokingly, kinda not) said that there was a name for heterosexual men that enjoyed their wives inserting stuff into the anus: Gay. I was immediately challenged by several ladies. One even said, basically, that she knew many rich, powerful men that enjoyed that.....In the end (no pun intended) it was decided that some brave soul would ask the guys this question in "The Men's Room". -
And again, I say that's overly simplistic. Vote (or don't) for somebody on their own merits, not because you think they may be similar to somebody else. Else, you might not have voted for Obama because he attented church with Rev. Wright 90% of the time, right? And that's a valid point. I wasn't exactly jazzed about McCain, either. Oh, I see. When it serves your purpose, associations are ok. When it serves the other side, it's a "cheap trick". I cannot refute such a well thought out and elegant position. Nicely constructed!

Mac and Manatee are the Cliff's Notes of LBT, only far more entertaining!
-
Funny, and with big letters, but I still win.

Wow, I see that really bought into the hype. So what if McCain voted with Bush 90% of the time? Does that mean they're the same person? Nope. That arguement is childlike, at best: George Bush had a dog. Obama is getting a dog. Obama is copying Bush policy. See? It's stupid not to vote for somebody based on somebody else's merits. Now, you actually have some valid points as to why you didn't vote McCain.....but those are based on what he personally did / did not do. Funny that the left loved comparing Bush to McCain based on their common associations, but cried foul when Obama was criticized for his associations with Ayers, etc. Personally, I like Palin. I don't think she's "as ignorant as they get"....my vote there would go to Blagovitch (sp?). I think she got crucified by the media and feminists. Compare Palin's interviews and Carolyn Kennedy's interviews, and tell me who comes off looking more stupid....

Patty, I didn't vote for Obama either. It was because he's black. Just kidding. I just didn't agree with his politics. However, he is now our president and I think that all Americans need to give him the benefit of the doubt. Don't be like those annoying liberals that constantly disrespected Bush with ill thought-out personal attacks because they disagreed with him politically. I haven't seen where Obama has made any significant moves to promote abortion. He kinda has his hands full with the economy to address any controversial social issues right now. Are you speaking about "The conscience clause"? Because I think that's kind of small potatoes. Ending the war......easy to say, much more complicated to do. Personally, I felt a little reassured that Obama didn't just blindly pull out the troops without regard to what would happen, as opposed to seeing that position as a flip-flop. I think (maybe somewhat naively) that the president has access to a lot of information that everybody else doesn't have. Even members of congress. That's part of why I got annoyed with the people that claimed (and some continue to assert) that "Bush lied". My point is.....it looks to me like Obama got a little more educated to the middle east situation when he got sworn in, and changed his mind. Spending package ....looks bad. However, I think we all agree that something had to be done. That action is dependant upon which party is in power. Republicans say cut taxes and let the markets sort it out. Democrats say raise taxes and pour in money to programs. Who is right? History will be the judge here. I'll admit I have my concerns, but hey......what can I (or any of us) do about that now? Might as well try and stay as positive as possible. Cutting pork....When will people wise up? Every politician promises this, and nobody can deliver on it. Why? Politics. Pork is a way of keeping the home constituients happy. Votes to approve pork bills are like currency....they're traded and billed. The system sucks, but again.....whatcha gonna do? There was a movement awhile ago called "Throw the bastards out", or something like that. It advocated getting rid of all the current congressmen and senators and starting over from scratch. This idea sounds better and better every year to me..... energy....To me, this is a big one. I know the economy sucks, but I think we MUST invest money into alternative energies to get us off oil. My only complaint is that Obama seems to be caving in to the left by not considering nuclear energy. I think we have to think about ALL possible energies to get us out of the imported oil mess. All in all, I don't know how things will work out. As a Christian, I can have faith that nobody can sway the will of God......and, as God instructs, I will be faithful to my government.

Except....at some point personal accountibility has to kick in. It's wrong for me to have 20 kids and expect my big mama government to pay to feed and educate them, because I can't. I haven't seen Slumdog Millionaire, but I'm assuming India doesn't pay out money to support people's kids? Are you saying they should? Schmart! Uh, you can't compare the Catholic theology of disdain of birth control with the crazy octomom. I mean, I guess you can....but the comparison is absurd. Octomom didn't get 14 children because her religion said not to use birth control. I would bet (though I don't really know) that most large Catholic families don't rely on the government to support their families.

Knock, knock. Who's there? Me- the winner

I'm just gonna go out on a branch here and speculate that she's getting something else besides humor out of doing that... Totally geek question: I'm a pipe smoker too. Do you know what brand of pipes your dad hads? Is he looking like steak, or a big sausage? Yep, I went there. Well, sorry Lu.
-
I feel kinda jumpy and edgy.....at first I didn't know what that feeling was, but then it hit me: This is how a winner feels.

Anyone notice Post Banders are a bit snobbish?
plain replied to El Diablo's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Well for goodness' sake, don't show the secret handshake to the pre-bandsters!! -
But Lu, you WILL be paying for them, in a way. Cali is bankrupt and crying to the fed for money (even though they often thumb their nose at federal laws....but that's another post). So my tax money and yours will be shipped there.

Bro-mance.....LMAO!!

Dear losers, Suck it Love, The New Winner
-
Well, in a platonic, hetero kind of way. Why is it that two dudes can't strip to the waist and wrestle without some "gutter mind" thinking overly sexual thoughts? What are you implying, man?!?
-
Yup....bandster hell. Hang in there, because it will be better when you can eat more substantial food. High protein foods helped me feel more satisfied. You'll eventually get there, but until you do, just take it one day / hour / minute (lol) at a time and hang in there!! You can do it!

On two week post op liquids
plain replied to Nakniwa's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Nakniwa, Jody is right about taking up valuable space right now, but also consider this.....now is the time you should be working on those pesky rules so that they become second nature by the time you CAN eat more substantial things. This is especially true for those things that you think will be more difficult for you to do. Good luck! -
Howdy there Arpeggia! Welcome to lapbandtalk. I know the process can be frustrating, but hang in there. As for advice.....there will be plenty of that! Every single person on here has an opinion and is not afraid to state it, lol. Good luck!
-
Hey beach! *record scratch* Uh....that didn't sound too good. Better try that again. Hey Beach Mom! Congrats on getting insurance approval, and welcome to Lapbandtalk. As for the pain, I personally didn't think it was too bad. I was sore for about 3 days, but not too sore. I only took my pain medicine at night to help sleep. I went back to work on the 4th day, and it was ok. I haven't had a problem with reflux, but I never had reflux problems pre-band. Good luck!

You worked a quote from Heathers into that? Dude.....that's awesome.

LOL.....did you read the thread from the start?
