    So who's the "one"? Oh......

I hate it when people post just to post.....

Well thanks for wrecking my self esteem. That's the last time I go to the beach with you....

    What do you all do?

What do I do? I crash the ladies room and flash the unsuspecting! *opens raincoat* *runs off giggling*

    I need some help

Ok Evo, you know I'm not really one to "coddle", so believe me when I tell you this: It's not too late to get started again. Take it one day at a time.....or if that's too much, then one hour at a time. You can do it, evo.

new tattoo idea what u think?

I like the concept, but youch! The ribs are a tender area for tattooin', lol. If you get it done, post a pic!!
  6. Well, you know how it is.....One day it's whistlin' while you walk down to the "fishing hole", the next day it's locking up Otis for cooking....

    Breathing tube

What AngelWhisper said. Yes, you'll get a breathing tube with the lapband. You'll get a sedative that will make you very drowsy before they place the tube, so no, you shouldn't remember it going in. Generally, they remove the tube while you are still groggy from the anesthesia, so most people don't remember it coming out, either.

    Im new at this

Here's a link to researching a Mexican doc, vicky. Hope it helps. http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f200/researching-mexican-lap-band-doctors-101-a-43575/
  9. Kind of hard to say, donyia. Chances are, you will.....However, since the reason for the preop diet is for your safety, there is a chance that your surgeon may opt not to go ahead with your surgery if you haven't lost what he thinks you should have.
  10. Well hello there, chirocw. You are absolutely correct in that post band life takes a little getting used to. About re-adjusting to your new "full feeling".....this is (IMO) one of the most difficult, yet key lessons that a successful bandster will learn. Sounds like you have a sound base, and therefore are off to a good start. Best of luck to ya!

    Numbness?

Put me down in the "no numbness" column, Brie.
  12. Well, I'm more of the "take it out" mentality. I've read a lot of stories of people on here that are too tight, and they ultimately eat "bad foods" just to get something down. It's better to eat a slightly bigger portion of nutritious food than to eat a smaller portion of crap, IMO.
  13. Hi there NorCal. You might get more replies if you post your question in the "doctors / Fills" section. Good luck!!

    First Day Liquid Diet

Crystal, the pre-op diet sucks. There's no way to sugar-coat it, lol. The thing that helped me the most was knowing that it was for my safety. The fact that your husband is doing it with you is awesome. That level of support is incredible. Hang in there, and you will be through it before ya know it. Good luck!
  15. Michelly, I know it's difficult to be patient, but what other choice do you have, right? lol.... As far as looking for people that have had your specific doc or hospital, you might have more luck posting your question in the "Doctor and Fills" section, or the "Local Support Group" section. Good luck!

Losing the Battle of right and wrong!!!

Hey Fitzie. I think it all comes down to self discipline (I know that's difficult to hear, and probably not at all what you wanted to hear). It's not that you should never splurge on an occasional treat.......it's just that you have to go into it knowing that you'll have to make up for it somewhere down the line (via increased exercise, decreased calorie consumption, or both!!). Perhaps I don't have the healthiest outlook though, lol.

Female Invasion of the Mens Room

LapDancer, I could be waaaaaay off base here, but this is my $.02......... We all know that there is much more to a marriage than just sex; However, sex (for most of usguys, I think) is really a type of "glue" that weds the physical to the emotional in a marriage. The lack of sex, coupled together with the fact that your husband isn't eager to spend time doing things with you, suggests to me that he has somewhat "checked out" of the marriage.

What are you listening to right now?

Reznor / Bowie - "I'm Afraid of Americans"
  19. Chris Rock was the first one I heard talk about it. I think it originally was "a prison thing". Yeeeesh.
  20. Well, I'm not really sure how this'll go over Hal. I'm not trying to be negative. My thoughts are that you need to think things over and be certain that the band is something you can commit to. I love my band.....but it takes equal parts hard work and dedication on my part. I can see where you might be a little reluctant.
  21. Hey, that's great news, Steph. I remember feeling that excited when I got approved. Good luck!

    1,2,3 Here I go

Hey Jacs. It's normal to have lots of questions in the beginning. A good first step would be for you to attend one of those free informational seminars that the surgeons are always giving. Also, have a good look around here......there's a ton of information to read. Good luck!

    Lap band 03-02-09

What stage are you in, bo? Clear liquids? Full liquids? Mushies? Every doc has their own schedule of food progression. It can be tough at first, but hang in there.
