This thread is going to be sooo inappropriate!

"Before you go to the fish store, try the pepto". WTF?!? The fish store?!? I don't even want to know... -
As a young college student, I got into Aikido. The Aikido club had a motto that was something like (spelled phonetically, of course): "Goon tie wah, Gojiro - 0 toe no ray something, something" It was supposed to mean "The Japanese army couldn't beat Godzilla".

Are We ready for a Black President?

Heh. Very plainly spoken watcher. Kudos to you. -
Ya know, Glouc, I think I can already see the thin person inside you emerging! Just give the saboteurs "the mental finger" and proceed with your success.

Men, stay the hell out of this forum! *adjusts wig, smooths goatee* Just us girls!

Bwa ha ha ha!! Stop! You're killing me!! Too funny!! Jac, you could just use the produce scales at the local grocery store to weigh them. Of course, you might get some odd looks....LOL

It's kind of a cliche, and you'll hear it approximately a million times, but be patient. You probably won't have restriction for awhile. Nemesis, your focus should be on healing your stomach sutures, not "losing weight", per se. That's why the diet is small and mostly liquids (so your stomach can heal, and not be distracted by having to digest things). If you're getting light headed and really hungry, eat a small snack (doc approved, of course). I have to echo what Mike said.....the higher protein shakes kept my appetite at bay better, until I was healed enough to start the fill process. Staying busy helps with the hunger pangs. next time you get hungry, try walking for 10 mins or so. If still hungry, eat a small healthy snack (say, 1/2 of a mushed up banana....or a protein shake). The other advice I have is to cut back on the apple juice and go full tilt with the water.

Before and After Lap Band Surgery - PICTURES ONLY
plain replied to DeLarla's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I'm gonna try and post some before -n- after. Older pic (longer hair) was December 07. More recent was taken about 2.5 weeks ago. Uh, this might not work... -
Um, not that this is related to the topic in any way, but Jacqui, whenever I see the subtitle under your username, I have to giggle a bit. "Banded down under" sounds vaguely dirty to me, LOL. My grandmother is from Australia, lest I be accused of bias against the aussies...

Everything sounds like night terrors, except for the school incident (and even that, maybe.....night terror folks are usually extremely difficult to wake up during / after an incident...but it can happen). Only a sleep study / series of studies could differentiate between night terrors vs. REM behavior disorder. You are correct that N4 disorders are much more rare in adults (pretty common in kids. Out of all children that sleepwalk, only 30% will continue by the time they're teenagers. Then only another 30% will continue into adulthood). But if you're trying to make me look even geekier in front of my LBT buds...mission successful! Shhhhhh.....don't bring up my extreme myopia or comic book collection, K?
-
Depends. Night terrors, per se, basically come out of that "N4" stage of sleep (the very deepest stage) I mentioned before......same with sleepwalking. Strictly speaking, those behaviours aren't usually even treated, unless events are very frequent, or behaviours get dangerous (ie, sleepwalking into high traffic areas, getting in and starting up the car, etc.) The trick is to determine whether it's really Night terrors she's having. Does she ever remember anything of them later on?

My new hair (I feel this pic is a bit deceiving. I am not as skinny as I look.)

Froggi, I am not surprised, LOL

I just realized that I wear scrubs more than I wear regular clothes. Just to post. By the way, I'm thinking about working this in as my "tagline" in real life. Example: Boss: "Trey, did you get those studies faxed" Me: "I'm sleepy and I'm eating cheese. Just to post." Wonder how many WTF looks I'd get?

Cracking me up, Pix. Hopes he gets here quick.

Hello? Pot calling the kettle black much? LOL....J/K Fenton. Your numbers still rock! Nemesis, it's very common for patients (men and women both) to say very embarrasing things on the versed. I used to work a position where I assisted with a lot of bronchoscopies, so I have heard just about everything....I can pretty much assure you the nurse just laughed it off and added another funny story to her list. No big deal, man.
-
Good luck, travelLady!
-
Don't know about yout insurance particulars, nurse....But we're glad to have you aboard. Good luck with the red tape.
-
Well, glad to have you, Candi. Welcome! Just out of curiousity, If you want GBS, then why don't you insist on getting that? Don't get me wrong.....I love my band (and personally feel it's the safest procedure on the market)....but I wonder if the above-mentioned people have some financial stake in ignoring what you want and referring you to something else? Either way have a look around. There's a lot of information to be found here.
