    Hoodia anyone??

tell us what brand you bought la madam!!:help:
  2. not being a good bandster from the get go or soon there after? anyone out there who did not follow the after surgery clears only rule and go strait to mushies or foods? or cheat really bad early on? did you slip your band becaue of it? did you do fine? there has to be some rebels out there:p
  3. please tell me someone out here has had this experience...i've written it somewhere else in here but who the heck knows where it is now...anyhoos, I CANNOT BURP!! still! i was banded on 12/13 and i still can't burp. my body is doing the involuntary suck in/hiccup part but then it gets stuck in there and i can't expel it! i'm getting more and more gas in my belly and can't release it. i would kill for a big ol' drunk sailor BELCH, OMG that would be heaven *sigh*. i take gasx to help but still nothing makes it possible for the air to come back up and out. it keeps me so bloated and uncomfortable feeling. i won't see my doc in mx til jan 21.:phanvan
  4. thanks so much for replying everyone, gives me hope!!:Bunny smooches!
  5. THANK YOU! i was feeling like i was the only one who experienced this, most everyone talks about how much they are burping. how long did it take for it to go away? i wonder why it happens? it seems so simple to bring the air back up, but it physically will not do it, i can't even strain and force it back up. i feel like a thanksgiving day float.:phanvan

    Back and banded!

thank you everyone for the well wishes! the gas pains are starting to subside with the exception of NOT being able to BURP!! it's soooo frustrating!! and it hurts! i can still only get the initial inhale/hiccup part of it and no expelling, it hurts right in the center of my chest everytime it happens. anyone else have this problem? i think i'm the only one who CANT burp.
  7. welp, just got home, what a looooong trip. i am so glad to be home. me and mom stayed an extra day just in case there were any problems, in fact, that idea was more geared towards her. her being older, much more overweight and diabetic i was worried about her having problems. welp, of course SHE BREEZES right thru it. it's like she didn't even have surgery. no pain, no gas, no soreness, no hunger, restriction right away....and here i am, younger, lightweight no health problems and there i was on the other bed dry heaving with unbelievable nausea, sooo sore, STARVING, gas to DIE for. in fact, i'm still suffering with the gas!! ughhhhhh! seriously, not to be over dramatic here, but i think i had all the complaints that are usually spoken of. the nausea and dry heaving were so excessive that i was worried that i might of already made my band slip. i called dr.martinez's cell phone from the hotel cos i was so sore, miserable and worried. he agreed to go ahead and do a barium swallow that day to put my mind at ease that my band was ok, which it was, thank goodness. all that finally calmed down and now there's just a little soreness and killer gas left...bleckkk. not mom, she's over there with her little sips going, "my goodness, i can't believe i'm already full!" and i'm going, "what i would do with a bigmac right now*grumble*" anyhoos, overall tho, it was not a bad experience. dr.ortiz and dr.martinez are SUPER nice men, very attentive and their staff was super nice too. looking back something funny but the poor nurses prolly thought i was loco....i have a navel piercing and i knew i would have to remove it before surgery. they tend to close up super fast so i programed it in my head that the minute i got back from the surgery suite i would put it back in right away! so, before they take me back they gave me something in my IV to start making me groggy so i was wayyyy too loopy to focus and was unable to get the piercing out. i don't know who took it out but later found out that whoever did gave it to my mom to hold. anyhoos, so when my eyes opened, i'm still laying on the surgery table and i'm as loopy as i could be and i start yelling err uhh SLURRING over and over again in a panic, "senorita!!! per favore!! my piercing!! senorita ayúdeme!!" my arms are flailing and pointing to my navel! SNORT! OMG they prolly wanted to knock me out again. i draw another blank from there, apparently my mom put the piercing back in when i got back in my room. ohh the DRAMA heeheeheehahahahohoho!

    Back and banded!

hey chichi! yes, thank you for the info! we plan on going to our first couple fills back to mx but after that we'll prolly be ready to find something closer. i've taken gasx like crazy and i don't think it really helps that much. i've noticed that my left side hurts the most, sharp pains but i'm just waiting it out. i know it'll pass, it's just the waiting. i've read alot that peeps burp alot after being banded but i've noticed for me, however, that i can't burp! it's like i can take the air/gas in but i can't expel it, it won't come back up! so i think i'm making the gas problem worse everytime my body tries to burp but it's totally involuntary, it's so aggrivating:(

    Ahhhhh Mushies Ideas please

what is it and where can i get it?!
  13. i'm a lightweight too. my bmi is only around 32 but if i don't get help now, oneday it will be 42 or 52 etc. the states won't touch me either that's why i've ultimately decided to go to mexico, my surgery date is dec13th. i've done the same diets over and over again that we all have my whole life, i've been really thin and really fat over and over again, nothing ever lasts, even when i do it the "right" way. i've watched my mom, who is short and fat just like me, as are all the women in my family, deal with the ravages of diabetes for 12 years now. i feel like no matter what i do i'm destined to turn into her and the rest of the women in my family. for me, this is preventative care. why should i wait until i have diabetes for sure before doctors are willing to help me? i won't do that to myself. i've come to terms with admitting that i need help and now i'm doing what i have to to get it. so no, you are not wrong in wanting this, you know your body better than anyone. you take care of you

    M-i-c-k-e-y

heya, i'm in lakeland/plantcity which is about 45minutes down the interstate from orlando. today we've got a bit of a coldfront coming thru, it's 61 outside and i'm freezing my bootylicious off!! brrrrrrr! i've got the heater on, i can't handle the cold!!! i don't know how long the coldfront will last but i got by today with jeans and sweatshirt. usually florida is t-shirt and shorts most of the year. i don't know where you are from but 61 might be pleasent to you, while it's freezing to me. check the puter before you come and if no cold front you'll definately want to bring shorts and tees, and comfy shoes if you're doing the parks. most of the parks have water rides that you can get pretty wet on so you might want to consider that if you rent a locker at the parks. oh, don't forget the rain, rain can pour at the drop of a hat here!! parkas are in ALL the gift shops throughout the parks tho. hmmm, is that all i can warn you about???....oh, watch out for sharks and gators and you're all set
  15. hurry, it started at 9pm EST , called "super obese"
  16. my surgery date is approaching and i have been pigging out for a few weeks now. i feel so horrible and full and miserable, yuk... i guess i'm trying to subconciously trick myself into thinking i better eat everything i can get my hands on while i can. now i'm so miserable. i hate it when i do this. mariposa, i noticed you said you were a lightweight and that's why you went to mexico. i'm in the same boat. i'm way lighter than what the states require but i know i need help and i'll do what i have to to get it. i'll be in mexico on the 13th for surgery, as well as my mom, she's getting banded after me. we're both short and fat, and it's been a constant battle my whole life. i can't remember a time that i wasn't battling this. i've noticed that the heavier people who have this done lose alot right away. do you feel that since, as a lightweight you had less to lose, you're weight loss has been alot slower? i need to lose50 -60 pounds, i'm just wondering if it's going to be alot slower than usual.
  17. OOPs! i meant to post this post here instead of in the support forum!! my surgery date is aproaching and i'm a little worried about something. lipomas are little fatty tumors, they're begnine (sp?), and nothing to worry about but they can get bigger. i happen to have one right under where my left breast meets my ribs on the left side and i'm wonderin how close to the band that would be and if it's going to cause any problems during surgery. i'd hate to wake up and not be banded because of it. i've had two dr's palpate it and a friend who is an ultrasound tech scanned it and it is just fatty tissue BUT do you think it could be a problem during banding? it feels like it's about the size of a fifty cent piece, it's gotten bigger, especially since i've gained weight. anyone have any experience with this? thanks, suki

  19. does anyone feel that one is better than the other? i've been told that oriz only uses the 10cc band, so i'm assuming that's what i'm gonna get when i get banded dec 13th. it makes me fear that i'll need more fills than a 4cc band before i feel restriction. anybody? thanks, suki
  20. hi everyone, i'm suki (rhymes with pooki, not sucki, snort newbie here i've been lurking and reading for about a week or more now. i'm really glad i found this place, everyone seems very nice and knowledable. i'm really nervous, my mother and myself are getting banded on dec 13th by dr ortiz in TJ. at least we'll have each other. we're stayin an extra day just incase we aren't up to flying right away. we're in florida so it's gonna be a long trip. we arrive in TJ on the 12th, surgery the 13th and we'll be flying home on the 16th, do you think that's enough rocovery time before getting on a flight back to florida? also, we do plan on flying back for a couple fills initially, but does anyone have any florida doctors they would recommend for fill? is there anyone else out there who is going to be in TJ the week of dec 12th?? any input would be greatly appreciated, thank you!
