I have struggled with being overweight for years and it just kept getting worse. I'm 42 years old and I am 8 weeks out from Roux en y and also hernia repair. I have hypertension asthma osteoarthritis and depression, all of which are linked to my weight. It has been a struggle but so worth it! I lost 60 lbs on my own before surgery with the pre-op diet and have lost 25 lbs since surgery. I was hoping for more, but feel absolutely wonderful. Thats 85 lbs total, so I'm half way to my goal! The biggest struggle for me has been fitting in the exercise routine. I work so many long hours and am very tired when I get home. I try very hard not to beat myself up but old habits...
I hope to meet people that are in the same boat. My family and friends have been supportive but have no idea what its like. I felt like my best friend died when I couldn't go to my food anymore. That has gotten better but I still have my moments. I wish everyone well!
