My revision from the sleeve to RNY is on the 26th of October. I'm very nervous! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Well said Carrie! I'll be sending good vibes your way. I was told today to expect up to a 3 day hospital stay, I'm hoping for a 1 day stay and kicked loose. Please keep us informed. The sleeve only made my feed worse and now I have Barret's Esophugus. I wish I would've just had the bypass from the beginning. It's a learning the hard way type of experience Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Cheated on my preop liquid diet, will the dr cancel my surgery?
laliza replied to ginaandy's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I remember I had made Pasta well into half of my daughters liquid pre-op diet. She was so mad, and later I caught her chewing a mouthful of pasta then spitting it out. Lol guilt. It's going to be hard but not impossible. When I had my pro and post op liquid stage, I'd make food, serve it to my kids then go outside with a shake or Popsicle. Sometimes I'd take a walk and ask the kids to help and put the left overs away before my walk was over. It helped Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

My daughter cheated as well, but got on track. She had her surgery as planned without any damage. But this diet is done for a reason. Just mention it to your surgeon. Better be honest then later regret it Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
Well I can't agree with you entirely, I had the band for two years. It was terrible. It almost cost me my life. Erosion and a 7 1/2 hour surgery then was converted to a sleeve which made my acid worse. I lost weight but not enough. I'd eat foods that were easy for me. You are a very small percentage who are successful with a bad. Congratulations. I've spoken to at least half a dozen wls surgeons who will absolutely will not preform the lap band surgery. Only to remove it. I hope you never have to go through with what I went through or with the majority who had it and are having it removed. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Well if our you I would have the bypass I went from bad conversion to sleep and with acid reflex issues even worse after the sleeve now I have no choice but to do the gastric bypass. With people on my support group I've noticed that there acid reflux got so worse with the sleeve. And those who went straight from band to gas bypass couldn't be happier in my opinion which is just my opinion Id go straight for the bypass Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Well I was banded in 2008, and my band did more harm than good, eventually I was converted in 2011 to a sleeve. I thought my acid reflux would go away but it has gotten worse and I know know have Barret's esophagus. If I would've listened I would've had the bypass done from the very beginning I never really did lose much weight with the band and only minimal with the sleep. I have been to many support groups and I've noticed that the band is useless and almost every single person that I've met in a group has had a revision to either a sleeve or bypass and those who've had the sleeve continue to have issues with the acid if not worse like me but for those who had the bypass could not be happier. I'm hoping to hear from my new surgeon to see if I will get the bypass and give me some relief from my terrible acid reflex. I wish you luck Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Hi there! I used to attend the Good Sam hospital weight loss surgery meetings. They were so helpful. As I recall there's a clothes exchange which was great. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
