IV fluid weight gain and 3 week stall
NewLA replied to Kindle's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My surgeron referenced it...but again it depends on the person. I was very dehydrated day of surgery so even before I could be wheeled back they were pumping fluids in me just to get my IV in. My twin is at 4 weeks and hasn't hit a stall yet. I am however very thankful for my NUT and this forum as a newbie I've been able to learn so much and assess what may or may not work for me. I even had a good grasp on how to deal with potential issues....I appreciate you. This journey is individual to all of us so knowledge is power (minus the tad foolish questions) Sent from my SM-G920T using the BariatricPal App -
Ok I have to ask...are things going too well? Am I overdoing it?
NewLA replied to higher's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
As people give advice...ie. shakes only, stay on liquids at this phase, don't do this.....we should be mindful that we all work with different surgeons who allow us to progress based on each there recommendations. I'm 3 weeks post op and continue to do well. I'm able to eat soft foods even though Beans are my favorite thing right now. Soft meat is about to be introduced and I hope that helps get more Protein in as I can only get about 1 shake in a day. This journey is individual to us all...enjoy the continued feelings of feeling good on this new Road ahead!!!! Sent from my SM-G920T using the BariatricPal App -

These are great types. I have done mashed potatoes and am also doing sweet potatoes. Currently in the puree phase after being sleeved on 6/30. Trying to be creative other than just refried Beans....which are heavenly to me Sent from my SM-G920T using the BariatricPal App

NewLA replied to higher's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm doing very well...I am 12 days out. I asked my surgeron if he really did anything cause I feel really good. I was fatigued at first, but as I got more Protein in, life got so much better. I went back to work today and continue to be pleasantly suprised. I was prepared to be on my death bed based on others post. But I realized my individual experience is just that...my own. So therefore anyone else who experienced the growing pains does not mean my journey is going to be filed with doom, come a week or ever. Enjoy!!! Sent from my SM-G920T using the BariatricPal App -
Any Newbies in Maryland ?
NewLA replied to BeautifulSharifah's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm feeling really good. This was not what I was expecting. In my mind this was going to be so much worse. My time frame may have helped it... my total process from start to finish was 120 days. Sent from my SM-G920T using the BariatricPal App -
I had no problems....only had a 90 process, no weight loss requirement no net gain. They have 15 business days to make a decision once submitted. My paperwork was submitted on June 2, approved June 14th. Sleeved on June 30th... I did call every 2 business days to check in on the status Sent from my SM-G920T using the BariatricPal App

If I didn't know I need to drink fluids, I probably wouldn't. I'm not hungry, thirty or feel full when I drink. I anticipate that should occur when I start pureed foods. Sent from my SM-G920T using the BariatricPal App

I was sleeved the same day!!!! I had no pain, but was very nauseous on the morphine took me most of the night for them to regulate the nausea. Once I was off the morphine I was good. Discharged on Friday with still minimal pain, just had 0 energy. Able to get 32 oz of Fluid down and haven't touched a pain med. I'm starting to think maybe they didn't do the procedure.... I would call to verify that they recieved all the documentation. They have a 14 day policy to review and approve. I confirmed that they received the info from my surgeon and then called every 2 days to ensure it was not placed in a pile. It took from June 2 to June 13th...thats 7 business days! I'd call your insurance company and ask what the review period time? I have Aetna and I was submitted on June 2 and approved June 14th. They have a 14 day review period per policy as long as all the documents are in. I only had a 90 day policy to meet guidelines for insurance which what was in line with my surgeons requirements. I'm in Camp Springs MD and travel all the way to Frederick MD with Dr. MCKENNA. I had a friend go with the practice and used my flex spending to pay the fee. My insurance requires 90 day nutrition and I started in February 2016. Hoping to schedule for late June 2016 Sent from my SM-G920T using the BariatricPal App
