How are people staying under 1000 calories?
rebcal replied to rick_ron's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hey, rick. It's definitely normal to up the calories 3 months out, however I'm about 7 months out and still can't make it to 1000 calories. Did you speak to your nutritionist? Maybe he/she can help you figure out a daily goal/plan to stay with if you're having trouble with calories. You're definitely on the right track with walking a lot and eating a lot of Protein. I still struggle with not even getting close to my protein goal so I think you should continue what you're doing and talk to your nutritionist! Everyone is different there are many different types of people on here regardless of all having the same surgery! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

Facial flushing after the gastric sleeve
rebcal replied to iloveorganicmilk1's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Yes I've dealt with this. My face would get very red and I would get very hot and sweaty but I realized it was just from not drinking enough fluids and not eating enough so make sure you're sticking to the guidelines and stuff Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

Omg I'm so much pain...
rebcal replied to itzbrittaanyx3's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I came home from the hospital in severe pain too and questioned everything.. it'll get better! Take zofran if you have that helped a lot and be careful with the Percocet because it causes major constipation. Trust me you'll feel better. All my doctors kept telling me that Nothing worth having comes easy! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

So I'm about 5 months post op and 1 month post op from my gallbladder removal as well. Ever since I had GB out I cannot find any substantial food that I like and that's even healthy. I'm gonna get in trouble lol but the only foods I seem to be able to eat and enjoy are pizza, Pasta, chips, popcorn things that aren't exactly good for a post op sleeve patient I know. Don't get me wrong I don't go crazy with the food I eat like 3 bites of pizza and I'm done I'm just nervous because I'm feeling weak and tired all the time and don't know what to do! I try to eat Proteins such as chicken and meats (I used to LOVE chicken before both surgeries and now can't stand it) but nothing seems to go down. Do you think maybe I should make an appointment with the nutritionist at my surgeons office? I haven't seen her in a while and think maybe that I should get a direct plan of things to eat that'll at least be a little healthier! Has anyone else had similar issues? My friend had her gallbladder out and is fine, of course she has a full stomach so I can't really relate to her. Just wondering if anyone out there has face similar problems after GB and sleeve with eating right. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Was wondering if its appropriate to give my surgeon a gift. He did my sleeve as well as my gallbladder and was wonderful throughout the entire process. I don't really know how to say how appreciative I am to him in person so I would rather write something with a gift. He's actually leaving the practice and moving away so it would be a thank you/moving gift. He just had a baby so I was thinking maybe a baby gift? Has anyone else given their surgeon a thank you gift? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Yes I agree! I was thinking that I should also get something for my surgical coordinator who worked with me throughout the whole insurance process (she's leaving the practice too) so I thought it would be nice to get them both a going away thank you gift. Gallbladder removal pain
rebcal replied to Pinkberry2's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had my gallbladder removed 2 months after sleeve it's been about 2 weeks and I'm still in pain I'm happy to hear I'm not alone tho because I'm starting to think I'm crazy Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
Hey guys. I'm about 5 months post op gastric sleeve and just got home from the hospital after removing my gallbladder. I had extreme pain in my lower right abdomen all weekend and went to the hospital on Monday to see my surgeon turns out my gallbladder was inflamed and filled with stones. My doctor told me it happens after rapid weight loss. Since I lost 65 lbs in 5 months , it makes sense that that would be the cause. I just want to know if this happened to anyone else? The recovery of this surgery is WAY more severe and painful. I feel horrible all the time all day. Anyone else going through or went through the same? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Hi guys. I'm about 3 months post op and I'm feeling a little depressed lately. I've lost about 50 pounds which is amazing and I'm so happy but lately I've been thinking what did I do to myself. Every time I eat I feel nauseous and feel like I'm going to throw up (and no I'm not eating too much I could barely eat 3 oz of food) I also haven't gone to the bathroom for the past 2 weeks. I'm only 19 and I keep thinking how can I live like this for the rest of my life. Don't get my wrong, when I look in the mirror and see that I have a collar bone (which I've never been able to see) I'm instantly happy, but I just can't believe that this will be my life forever. I'm so limited in the foods I like, I could only eat plain salmon, tilapia or tuna steak with minimal seasoning because any other involved recipes make me vomit or lead to severe nausea. I don't eat meat or poultry anymore, I can't stomach the smell of it either. I can barely eat salad because the lettuce gets stuck in my chest. I was just wondering if anyone else has gone through similar feelings, anyone out there my age that feel or have gone through the same? Maybe things will change as my stomach keeps healing, but as of now I'm at a loss. Thanks guys, Rebecca Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Will I ever enjoy food I like again
rebcal replied to hazelzay's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have to say that I am definitely a vegetarian after being sleeved. I can't eat any kind of meat, it makes me nauseous and throw up. I can't even stomach the smell of it. I was a little sad because meat was a huge part of my life. However, I'd much rather be thin than eat meat and I do find a lot of great vegetarian options. Hey guys. I know this question is asked a lot but please bare with me! I'm about 2 months out and I'm wondering how many calories roughly I should be consuming a day. As of now, I take about 500-700 calories a day, my highest calorie intake was about 850. Is that normal? I don't know what the normal range is for calories. Also, every time I eat I make myself aware of how many calories I'm eating and even if I'm not full yet, I'll stop earlier so as to not go over. I'm nervous about gaining weight or not losing because I'm eating too much (even though I know I'm not) it just feels like it. Anyway, sorry again. I know this is a known question but it's been bothering me for a while now. Thanks! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I'm getting Protein in more with foods (eggs, fish, beans) rather than the shakes. I definitely don't make my goal of 70 grams of protein a day though. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
