  9. Are we dealing with the same office??? Omg I had the same issues with mine! I would of been sleeved 2 weeks ago and probably not being sleeved May 25, had I not stayed on top of things!! I kept calling my insurance company and they kept insisting nothing was sent. The surgeons office INSISTED they submitted, nobody would retune my call. Finally I asked to speak to the doctor and then things got rolling!! I was finally submitted Thursday with an approval on Friday!! I'm having surgery next Wednesday, 6 days after being approved! I've done everything that was required of me and I had to stay on top of the office staff!! It was frustrating but my surgeon is awesome and it was worth it! I'm so excited now. Hard to believe

I am a REGISTERED Nurse and YES EKGS AND labs are now routinely done in the doctors offices here in NY at least. In fact every doctor I go to has their own EKG machine and nurses that draw labs and the main lab picks them up through a courier. My surgeon actually has his office inside the hospital, so ALL of my labs, EKG, chest X-ray, psych, cardiology, pulmonary, and NUT visits were done in 1 day and all banged out at once!! My very first visit with my surgeon was March 30, getting sleeved May 25th. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Lol my husband has ALWAYS ENCOURAGED my to GAIN weight these past 23 years of marriage. He does NOT want me to get the surgery but not because he thinks I will leave him but because he is worried something will go wrong in surgery. Poor guy. He is so worried about me. I'm not!! I'm ready to start my new healthy life!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  12. My surgeon doesn't require it all and my liver isn't too fatty anyway. I have had recent abdominal ultrasounds to confirm this. My surgeon just requires the standard nothing by mouth before midnight. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  13. I had my first appointment with my surgeon on March 30, have my VSG date of May 25th! Mine went like this...meeting with surgeon and office staff was given a folder of papers to fill out, including a record of 6 months of weights, which my primary doctor had to sign off on and what diets I have tried in the past and didn't work for me. Then 1 week later was all of the visits (work up day) with psych, NUT, cardiology, pulmonary all in the same day oh and lab work! Then after the surgeons office gathered all the reports from the above, they submitted me to the insurance, 1199 in NY and I had an approval date 2 days after I was submitted. I'm getting sleeved May 25th. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  14. I'm having my VSG on May 25th and there is not required pre op diet at all, just the NPO at midnight before surgery. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  15. I had my very first appointment with my surgeon on March 30 and am having my VSG on May 25th!! I'm in NY and my insurance only required documentation of attempts at weight loss, which I had and 6 months of weights with my primary doctor, which I had already as I see my primary every month anyhow for pain medication renewals. So I wrote the weights on a sheets for the past 6 months and my primary signed off. Easy peasy. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  16. I originally had a date of May 4th but then I found out it was only a "tentative" date but I just got my call now and it is DEFINITELY May 25th. Woot woot sooo excited!! They asked me to be a model for the doctor too, which I'm going to do!! HW: 235 CW: 235.... Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

No pre diet, no weigh ins....well I've been going to my primary doctor every month anyhows for pain Mgt, so we used those weights and my primary doctor signed off and I'm approved as my Bmi is 40.3, my insurance requires 40 and no co morbidities or 35 and 2 co morbidities. Pain under breastbone

If it was on just one side, I would be more concerned. But since it's on both sides, I would think more trapped gas. If you are short of breath AT ALL get to the EMERGENCY ROOM. I'm sure it's just trapped gas though. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I seen the surgeon 2 weeks ago and am waiting approval now. I have a tentative date for 4/27. My surgeon had me fill out a 6 month weight history and have my Primary doctor sign and stamp it and also I seen psych and nutritionist the same day. All that was done in one day. I just have to see cardiology and pulmonary for pre op clearance but that has nothing to do with auth Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Anyone with 1199 health insurance?

Oh wow. I seen the surgeon 2 weeks ago and have a tentative surgery date for 4/27. My surgeon had me fill out a monthly weight sheet and have my PCP sign it for 6 months. Had the social worker and nutritionist visit the same day. The cardiology and pulmonary are getting done next week but those aren't required for insurance just for pre op for the surgeon for clearance. There is no required weight loss before hand. I'm getting sleeved here in Poughkeepsie by Dr. Artuso Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App Also no sleep study, egd or colonoscopy are required either.
