    Lifestyle change

@@Inner Surfer Girl great advice. I sat with NUT and made a schedule for when I should take Vitamins and the combo. Based off of that schedule I used it to schedule what time I would do Protein drinks and later on I worked in my meals ( I am still eating out of 2oz cups, 3 times a day.). I also have a very active lifestyle so it is easier for me to plan out my day. I pack what I need for the day in a small tote and I also keep a small cooler in the car. Congratulations and best wishes. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

  8. @@jenn1 thank you for the thoughtful thread you posted in regards to enabling or confrontation. I am a newbie recently sleeved 28 April 2016 and as I went through the process to have the surgery I also worked on the things that were going to make me successful. I took the time to make some lifestyle changes and change my relationship with food. I came to this website and have stayed because of being able to read the journey of others who have successfully taken a journey I am on and are in a place where I want to be. I respect all whether newbies or vets who stick to plan and are no nonsense when it comes to this life changing decision. That is motivating! I am surprised at some of the posts that I have seen lately and it is unfortunate. I can't imagine having surgery then turning around to eat bacon, pizza and chug soda or alcohol immediately after. I can't understand why some think this is ok and why they want support for this type of action. I understand the stance of some of the vets, but it is a lot of recently sleeved or wls candidates that are just as frustrated with some of the dialogue on "why can't I eat what I want?" In the short time since I had surgery this place is my go to source and I hope people reconsider their involvement. In my short time since surgery I have followed my doctors advice, my NUTs advice, and yes I have listened to the vets. In my opinion I am rockin' my sleeve! . There are some really good people here that are providing great support and advice may not be what someone wants to hear but it may be what someone needs to hear. 19. Well it sounds like your liquid diet is pretty standard with other liquid diet protocols. It is good that you will be talking to your nutritionist and maybe they will have further insight for you. I do not have real advice or experience to pull from to give you but I can offer support and best wishes to you on your journey. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

    Checking in alone?

I had a requirement from the hospital to have a driver and they had to sign a form. Although I was not up to long term visits it was nice for the short visits from family to just walk with me in the hall. Truthfully I mostly slept. Driving would have been impossible for me. @@jay4151 Congratulations and welcome to the losers bench!!!! I was sleeved on 28 April 2016. Immediately after surgery I struggled with the multivitamin. I could not keep it down at all. I had to stop taking it until I started with foods. This was recommended by my NUT. You should call and let them know your difficulties and get advice as that everyone is different but my understanding that this is not uncommon. The first few days is a struggle to get the fluids, but do your best. Before surgery I drank room temperature Water now I can only drink really cold water. You may want to try warm tea or warm broth. I also found with taste changing I use to love Mio drops but now my favorite is Crystal light Raspberry lemonade and Crystal lite fruit punch. The fruit punch is unusual because I generally don't drink red anything. After surgery to get my Protein in instead of making full 8oz if you are using the Bariatric Advantage I would do four, 4oz drinks throughout the day. It was a little easier on the stomache. Hang in there it sounds like you are moving along and it does get easier! Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

@@judanna77 I am doing great. The first few days after surgery were a little rough and it was an adjustment period but once I got into a routine it seemed to get easier. My energy levels for a bit was miserable but things have greatly improved. I am getting some walking in daily but still working to get back to where I was. I am going to try Zumba next week! I just got clearance at my last appointment. As far as the liquids I have greatly improved my intake, thanks to Crystal lite fruit punch flavor, and raspberry lemonade. For some reason I can't seem to stomache Mio drops anymore. Plain Water sometimes makes me nauseous or taste like metal. I have already had a visit to the emergency room and it was not fun. Since surgery I have loss over 30 lbs and I am please. Well it sounds like you are doing great and I am proud of you and excited for you!! Keep up the great work!
