FMLA or Short Term Disability
pewpewpewpew replied to Ignatius's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am using a week and 1/2 of pto/paid time off. Then will go back to work on light duties for a couple weeks. I have a bunch of pto banked because I hardly go on big vacations or get sick within the 2 years I have been with my current employer. (they lump together vacation/holidays and sick leave) -
Alcohol and drugs after surgery
pewpewpewpew replied to jmc534's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am a medical weed patient. My surgeon's only concern is if I get the munchies and over eat-i could harm my sleeve. Also He told me no smoking 4 weeks before and after surgery. -

i don't think my experience was too typical. since i already had a good history of seeing a therapist and psychiatrist-i didn't have any issues. i met with a psychiatrist, nutritionist and medical doctor all in one day and at the end the medical doctor reviewed all the notes and said i was a good candidate for surgery and had me set up an appt with my surgeon.

this was my similar experience. I saw once for my initial eval and will see again before my surgery on june 22nd.

Newbie from Boston, MA saying hello!
pewpewpewpew posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hello everyone! Happy to have found this place! I am currently going to the the Massachusetts General Hospital weight clinic. After an orientation I had my first appointment at the end of December and it was determined I was a good surgical candidate. Due to some crosses communication wires I didn't get my surgical consult scheduled until last month..it's on 4/12/16. I am meeting with Dr.Meireles on Tuesday to discuss taking the next step! I have BCBS of MA which I hear is pretty good when it comes to wls coverage. So excited! Any tips are appriciated! I don't really know anyone else who has had wls. Looking forward to making some friends on here for support, help and crazy cat lady chitchat! ???????????????? -

Dark poop during pre-op week liquid diet
pewpewpewpew replied to tailor-made's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Could be your body reacting to the protein shakes. Chocolate shake...dark poop. Are you dehydrated? -
I had a split study done in october, the tech told me if the sensors indicated severe apnea-they would use cpap on me. They didn't end up having to. My results showed I have mild sleep apnea but my doctor wants to see if weight loss helps it before talking about needing a cpap.
