    Very frustrated, is this normal?

Thanks everyone for your feedback. I am going to follow up with my surgeon asap to get his feedback.

    Regrets?

I had my surgery on March 4 of this year and I have already lost 70 pounds going from 347 to 277 pounds. My snoring is gone, I don't sweat almost at all as opposed to before which was embarrassing and my wife and kids are so happy to see the new me and the complements from friends is constant and awesome. In short, I wish I would have done this years ago. Toughest thing so far has been dealing with food as it was the center of everything I used to do as we ate out all the time. I'm struggling in this area, but it's well worth it to regain my health and it seems, a little of my youth back as I look younger as I lose the pounds. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

To clarify what i mean about desserts, I mean Protein bars and shakes which to me are desserts. When I'm which family and they are sharing a desert, I might have one spoon to try, especially if its sugar free ice cream. Most folks I talk to, I seem to have lost more weight than usual so quickly after my surgery, so not complaining but just hoping that I can eat meat and chicken in the future and actually be able to down it and enjoy it as I've always been a steak kind of guy.

I know that stuff is not healthy which is why I am so frustrated as its the only things I can tolerate. I can't eat any type of meat, chicken, fish...nothing as I can't tolerate it. Only stuff I can eat are Protein shakes, Protein Bars, and the protein Snacks that Celebrity sells. I used to be able to eat an egg in the morning, but now I can't tolerate it as I feel like throwing up.
  7. I had my surgery on March 4th and so far I've lost 70 pounds which is great and my health has dramatically improved which is awesome. The issue that I am having is that I am eating less and less every day instead of eating more, as I can only tolerate Protein shakes, protein Snacks, soda crackers, peanuts and almonds, and most deserts which some of those are obviously not healthy. A couple of weeks after surgery, I was able to have Soups, and Pasta and was snacking on things without a problem but something has changed that I can't tolerate any of it so I am practically eating no regular food except for maybe one or two bites. Can't eat eggs, mashed potatoes, soups, Beans of any type, which are things from what I have read that most folks this much time after surgery can eat. Is this normal? Will this change or last forever as its very frustrating not to be able to even eat a little food?
  8. You have to look at it as a huge positive that anything that can be an issue is being identified now so that once you do have the surgery, you have no problems. It's all good!
