From the album: 8 and 4 months after
I have reached my goal weight and am loving life again. -
My hairloss lasted for about 10 weeks. It didn't get to the point that it was noticeable to anyone but me. I am in month 8 and am still waiting to notice it growing back. I haven't noticed it yet. I still have no regrets.

So it's been a month since I posted this. My hair loss is starting to slow down a bit. I have about half of my hair left. It's not so bad that I can see my scalp, but it is incredibly noticeable to me. If I pull it into a ponytail, a hair tie would twist 4 or 5 times. thin as a pencil. The pain in the scalp (like when you have a ponytail too tight) has started to subside. At least I have that to be thankful for. I am still happy with my choice to have the surgery. Hair wil grow back.

DO GASX STRIPS REALLY HELP GAS PAIN IMMEDIATELY AFTER SURGERY
Cheryl Denk replied to pastbandedsleever's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
They don't help right after surgery, but being four months post-op now; everything gives me gas. They work fast and effectively. I'm glad to have a bunch in my purse when I'm in public. -
Thanks everyone for weighing in on this. Best of luck to everyone. Happy Easter!

Maybe it's just in my head, but water makes me feel sick sometimes

Also, you aren't using a straw are you. Small, tiny sips so you limit your air intake. It sounds like gas. -

I don't get sick or feel pain, but I used to love water. Had no problem getting my 8 cups a day. Now I can't hardly drink two cups of water and two cups of Crystal Light a day. Really, I don't like food or drinks at all. Nothing tastes good. My nutritionist said this is normal because I'm still in Ketosis (almost 4 months out). She said once I come out of it, I will start getting hungry again and things will start to taste good again. She said I'll be wishing I was back to this. Sorry for wandering off there. Anyhow, I find it difficult to drink anything as much as before. -
Personally, I view this process in the same regards as a recovering alcoholic or drug addict. I don't think you should date or jump into a relationship until you are at least a year removed from surgery. You change as a person and aren't even sure who you are becoming for some time. Once you learn who you are and love yourself for it and all that you have been through, then you can let someone else in and you will figure out how to respond to them as you go. Why try and predict and worry about the future when it isn't here yet? One step at a time. This surgery doesn't just change what you eat. It affects every aspect of your life. Do not take it lightly.

Not immediately after surgery. Walk, walk, walk, walk, walk. Mine was very painful. -

From the album: Before Photo
If I look miserable in this photo, it's because I am. The day before this I stepped wrong off of a 6 inch high porch and broke my left ankle and sprained my right one at the same time. I didn't find out however until after this photo was taken. I wasn't going to miss my first appointment for this weight loss program. I had waited almost two months to get in for my consultation. Afterwards, I went for x-rays and then for my walking cast. My little ankles couldn't handle my weight anymore; I have never reached 5 feet tall. I get my genes from my little, rolly, pooly papa sitting there. He was my driver that day and took excellent care of me through my ankle ordeal and after surgery. He's a great man and I love him with all my heart. You need a good support system throughout this process. My decision wasn't based entirely in vanity. I had three comorbidities along with my BMI of 39.6 when I started. My insurance company found in my favor for a medical necessity. And now, I am no longer on high blood pressure meds. I am no longer taking medicine for acid reflux, and I expect to get off my high cholesterol meds the next time I have blood work. In less than two weeks I will be posting my 1 year picture from that day. I will be four months post op and am definitely not miserable anymore. -

Not at first. It just started for me, but it's enough that you will notice right away. You will be picking hair off of your clothes all day long. You'll notice your brush, you'll notice when you wash your hair. I just wanted to know how long it lasts, because at this rate over a long period of time, it could be a real issue.

God I hope so!!

I'm 3 months out of surgery and thought....gee, I must not be going to lose my hair. It started two days ago!! I've never had anything like this happen. I was wondering how long this lasts and hoping it might stop before it's all gone. I too started taking biotin because my nails just started falling apart last week.
