  1. Yay, so happy for you alphabetize! I am 2 weeks, 3 days out. Pain is gone, been off all pain meds for past 11 days. I am on soft foods. Been eating ground turkey, FF refried beans, mashed potatoes and Wendy'a chili. The scale has been stuck for 5 days but I've heard this is normal. I went to dinner last night for the first time. Got the chicken and mashed potatoes at Outback - chicken made with no butter or oil. I didn't eat much of it but it was nice to go out with my family. Still struggling to get all my water in, but I'm working on it. I'm down 13.5 lbs from surgery which isn't a lot but 23.5 total for April which is awesome. So proud of you! The gas pain was the worst for me. It really helps to walk even though it's uncomfortable. Thank you for updating us!! I've been thinking about you and wondered how you were. Haven't been on here in a few days. Hang in there! It gets better!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  2. I am also in the USA but they only gave me heparin shots while I was in the hospital. They didn't send me home with blood thinners. I got a b12 injection prior to leaving the hospital, but starting next month, I will do the b12 nasal spray (Nascobal) once per week. It requires a prescription, but also came with my Multivitamin, Calcium citrate, and Iron. It's the cheapest I've found - all of that for $25 through my insurance. 3. I'm 1 week out as of today. Had gastric bypass on 4/14. Down 11.5 lbs since day of surgery, 21.5 lbs since 4/4. So thankful to finally be losing!! I'm 5'7" Highest weight: 299 Preop weight before LS diet: 270 Surgery day weight 260 Current weight: 248.5 Goal weight: 135-140 Anybody name their pouch? Looking for a good one for mine. Toying with a few names but none are just screaming at me. The ones I'm toying with are Polly Pocket, Penelope Pouch, Penny, or Joey (like the baby kangaroo). Newbie on Protein

I'm in love with unjury chocolate splendor and the chicken Soup flavored one. I am 5 days post op and drink 3 a day. 21 grams of Protein per serving, zero fat and 100 calories. For the chocolate one, I mix it with skim milk to bump up the protein a little. So good. Highly recommend. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  7. Surgery took about an hour but you also have to add in time for them to get you back there and get you to sleep. I think it took a couple hours total. I was the only one on Dr. weaver's schedule that day so yours could go faster. Mine was done at 12:30. You spend about an hour in recovery after surgery Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  8. Hospital experience was ok. Had a couple nurses that had attitudes but they were the exception. Mostly everyone was really sweet. The surgery nurse and the anesthesiologist were amazing. It was tough getting up and around because of the pain but it gets a little better everyday. The first night they got me up to sit in a chair in the room and the next day I was walking the halls. Surgeon came in a couple times to touch base and to answer any questions. One of the dietitians came by also with instructions on what to do after you go home. Main focus right now is moving around and getting 60 grams of protein. They will send you home with pain meds, nausea meds and an antacid prescription to ward off ulcers. They will bring you broth and jello but I had zero appetite and still don't. What a change but it has been nice. You will do wonderfully. The liver shrink is worth it. Even all the liquids the day before surgery wasn't as hard as I thought. I drank a lot of apple juice that day. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  9. Yeah I think they are different post op. My surgery was Thursday. Everything went well and I came home yesterday. I am very sore but doing well. I lost 13.5 lbs on liver shrink but was only on it for a week. I haven't had any desire to eat at all which has been good but today I did get all my protein in - 3 unjury shakes. I just have to take it all really slow. Good luck on your surgery, keep me posted!! It's not easy but it will all be worth it!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  10. Hey I'm in Memphis too. Surgery is 4-14. Who's your surgeon? I have dr weaver. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
