Had Lapband procedure almost 3 years ago. (Wish I could turn back time...) Surgery was fine. Recovery was fine. Lost 25 pounds pretty quickly. Not too quickly, but was on schedule. Then stalled. Stayed stalled. Then started gaining. I am now back at my pre-surgery weight. I take full blame for this. The band is a tool and I have not used it properly. I have pretty much always been aware of the port. I can feel it inside me. If I move a certain way I am very aware of it. Recently I don't feel "right". It's hard to describe. But I feel a little queasy mixed with a little hungry almost all the time. I don't think I'm really hungry, but I eat to try to feel better. I have a general feeling of discomfort. So, I'm thinking that I need to do go a doctor to see if something is wrong. However, the group that I had surgery through has gone out of business. I don't even know what kind of doctor to go to. I am honestly considering going to Mexico to have the band taken out and get a mini-bypass, but have to wait a bit on finances. I think I should check on my current band before then. Any advice? Has anyone else ever feel "off" or "not right"?

I think 1-2 pounds a week is ideal. More than that and it will come back quickly - it's not sustained. Good luck.

I had surgery on 3/31. And I have a few questions. I have 5 incisions and they still have the tape on them. Should I take the tape off since it's been a week? I am so hungry. Hunger hit me on day 5 and has not stopped. According to the diet, I am supposed to be down to 1 Protein shake a day. Anyone else starving? Is there a post surgery diet posted anywhere? I would like to take a look at what other people are instructed to do. I am supposed to be taking a liquid multi Vitamin daily. The only liquid multi vitamin I was able to find is pediatric. And it's pretty terrible. Any advice on Vitamins?

Is anyone's goal weight higher than the BMI chart weight?
Horton replied to her1981's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I'd like to get to the BMI target mostly because my company has different level of health insurance rates based on your health and on part of that is BMI. So, if I can hit BMI, then my rates will be less.
