Update Day 13 (11/6/17) I am on a two week post op all liquid diet. I have 7 more days to go and it is not easy. I crave something other then liquid!! But the craving is not the strong, and goes away quickly. Especially after I drink a shake lol. I am going to become a protein shake mixologist! I am down to 243, starting from 250...17 pounds down. -

Odd Items to Bring With You
Killian replied to Killian's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Feeling good. Down 17 pounds. Doc has me on 3 protein shakes a day until nov 13. Not that bad. Not easy, but the surgery worked as I no longer have the insatiable cravings! -
I am in the hospital right now as I type this. (Tuesday, Oct 24, 2017) and wanted to share with you guys a couple of items to bring that I had and was sooo glad I did. 1. Sunglasses / eye cover sleep mask Why? My room was directly across from the nurses station and the light poured into my room. Luckily for me I had my old sunglasses in my back pack from when I used to commute on the train. They blocked the train car light on the 4am train. Need my beauty sleep! 2. Noise canceling headphones Why? These come in handy for all the machines that go "ping". And, like I said, I was directly across.from the nurses station so I didnt have to hear them. 3. Gas-x STRIPS Why? They freakin' work. I had some gas pains and took these. 10 min later pain was gone. 4. Loose fitting shorts / sweatpants Why? I wore silky basketball type shorts. So when I would be walking around the ward, no one can see my precious hiney. Plus, they are comfortable. 5. Phone / I pad Why? Alot of downtime. Dont forget toiletries!

I would stay clear of the chewables...especially in the hospital right after surgery. I took the Gas x strips for only a few days after the surgery. -

Day 7 Update (10/31/17) Happy Halloween!! Had my first Post Op appointment with Surgeon yesterday..weighed in at 244! Down from 260, so that is 16 pounds lost. Nobody has really noticed, but that is ok. I am sure my mom will when she visits on Thanksgiving. Doc has me on 3 Protein shakes a day for the next two weeks until my next appointment which is Nov 13th. Feeling good, NOT hungry at all which is a nice change. Taking my water in one sip sip sip at a time. So will post again soon. -

Day 4 Update (10/27/17).feeling alot better. Walking around and getting my water down. Lost 5.3 pounds already. Best of all? NOT hungry and NO craving battle to fight. -
I think going back to work that Monday is in the realm of possibility. All depends on how you react to the anestesia. I am 3 days post op and I could see going back to work Day 6 or Day 7 IF I had a desk job, which you said you do. If you were a construction worker, or a welder or something, I would say take another week.

Very normal I hope. I am just two days Post Op...just got home from the hospital yesterday. Had the exact same feelings you are having now. I just focused on how I am going to feel abouy myself come this Christmas after I have my "new tool installed"

I was annoyed that my insurance required 4 month waiting with supervised dieting and a whole bunch of other docs I had to visit. But, as I went through the docs, each one I visited was on board with my decision. The endochronoligist, pulminary, primary care, etc. Gave me great confidence to hear that their patients have had it done and were actually able to get off meds! I also ised the 3 months to practice sipping, not eating 30 min before and 30 after meals. So use the time wisely to increase your chance of success, it will be here quick.
