    8mo post op, 85lbs down!

@@kmsull617 I wore some VERY STRETCHY size 20 jeans, but in all honesty I was likely closer to a 26/28. My waist was around 52 inches at the time the picture was taken ???? I never allowed myself to be photographed (which I deeply regret now)!

  3. Hi everyone!! Just wanted to share some success! I've actually been really down lately about how I look. I keep saying I look the same and I still have so much more to go. I wish someone had prepared me for the head games involved with this process. It takes a while for your head to catch up to how far you have come. My boyfriend suggested I do some shopping and it was the first time I really said to myself "wow, if I stopped here I would not be unsatisfied" and MEANT it. Target shirt in a MEDIUM (whaaaaaaat! I was in a TIGHT 3xl), Uniqlo jeans in a 29 (they're really stretchy Ive been wearing a 10 lately and my waist is 33 1/2 inches)! Anyway point of this is...take some time to let yourself enjoy your success. It's so easy to become hyper critical of yourself. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  5. I wish I had a better before but I'm surprised even this picture exists. It was snapped by my boyfriend back in January. I was at 263. I'm two months post sleeve and at 217! I've hit a stall, but I'm not going to stress. I figure as long as I keep exercising and eating right the weight will come off. Size 22 to size 16! I have so much more to go but I felt good today. Snacking?

I think stomach acid might be the culprit. I only just started taking my PPI. I agree. I thought the recommended amount of food was A LOT, especially since I've been reading these forums for a while and see people struggling to get their meals in. I said I could eat that much but I don't think I can! When I was eating refried Beans I could only do 1/2 cup before getting super super full so I stopped eating before I was uncomfortable. Mindful eating is a habit I'm working on. I think perhaps because I made myself chicken pinwheels it felt like a ton of food. I've been eating chicken, bison, turkey and simple steamed veggies. Nothing crazy. I snack on cheese, a boiled egg, or cottage cheese. Thanks everyone! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Snacking?

This week has been my REAL food week! I am so happy to get to throw my food processor back in its hiding space and slowly chew through some solids. My physician plan states that I should be eating between 1 cup and 1.5 cups of food per meal. My question is.....do you guys snack in between? I'm finding that even with this volume of food (apparently I can pack away just about that) I feel hungry every 3 hours or so. I've tried to quell it with lots of Water but I'm having a tough time convincing myself it's head hunger. Anyone else having this issue? If so do you just ignore it and eat three meals a day? That's what my surgeon post op diet packet suggests but WHOA is it hard. Could it also be possible that a high protein/low carb diet is keeping me hungry? Any input would be appreciated Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  8. I feel like my surgeon is so lax! I asked him during my 1 week post op visit when I can start lifting again and he said one month post op now I'm worried I'm going to rip my little pouch open if I do it that soon! Anyway, he told me after 5 days I could do whatever cardio I wanted as tolerated. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    The wonderous Impacted feces

The squatty potty is literally the best toilet invention (second only to Poo-Pourri). Glad you, uh, resolved your situation Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Anyone not telling anyone about their surgery?

I work in a consolidated laboratory for a big hospital system. While I wanted to keep my decision private, the portion of my stomach removed actually ends up at our lab since I had the procedure done at an in-network hospital. When I first started I worked in the pathology department, so I know the staff well. I felt that, to avoid inevitable workplace gossip, I would be transparent. But, like you, I keep the conversations about it pretty short. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Trouble with protein/fluid intake

Ok, I'll do my best! Maybe it's hesitation on my part? I appreciate the words of encouragement Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  12. Sorry everybody if this is sort of a redundant topic! I was sleeved 04/04 so I'm just a few days post op. Aside from incisional pain in my one big keyhole, everything feels pretty ok. Today was my first day back on full liquids and I found I had a REALLY tough time getting my premier Protein shake down. 11oz took me nearly all day with breaks in between for Water. I probably had around 40 or less oz of water and only the protein from the shake. Someone tell me that this gets easier fast!!! In the interim, does any body have any suggestions for upping my intake of both? I've been sipping out of shot glasses all day! Lol Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
